The way-ay-ting is the har-dest part!

Oh, it is all paid for. I never buy anything on credit, only what I can afford at the time (after buying groceries and paying bills.) The worst that ever happens is having to scrimp a bit until the next paycheck.:)

Mockery of the Office of President

Correct. Look what the Bush Nazis did to Dan Rather when he found out about Dubya's draft dodging. Funny what a selective memory the public has, isn't it?

The way-ay-ting is the har-dest part!

I would love to. Where do I sign up?:)

Mockery of the Office of President

That much is true. The next president has their work cut out for them, trying to repair all the damage Bush has done.:(

The way-ay-ting is the har-dest part!

You forgot to add "...sold the Mirage 150s (replaced by 350s about a month ago), and ordered the S30s." Other than that, you about summed it up.:D Speakers I have my eye on for the next time I get some money saved up include Totem Arros, KEF iQ 5s (or iQ 3s), the B&W 600 series, and Ascend...

The only Dynaudios I have ever seen online are their studio monitors.

Mockery of the Office of President

    No humor. Just the truth.

    Should I Bi-amp or Bi-wire?

Remember, the less you spend on things that don't matter (eg cable), the more you will have available for things that do matter (eg speakers.) This is the real purpose of being objective.

Mockery of the Office of President

Hunh??:confused::confused: Clinton balanced the budget. Bush is spening like crazy and putting us deeply in debt.

Mockery of the Office of President

Clinton's big mistake was getting caught with his pants down. Aside from changing his mind too often, he was a generally good president. The economy improved substantially while he was in office. Bush, by contrast, is actively harming the country. His pointless war is causing a recession, he...

Trews new album "No Time For Later"

Never heard of 'em. Worth checking out.:) My favorite Canadian band is Arcade Fire.

    Bye Bye, Athena

I haven't heard the LS series itself, but I have compared the very similar Mirage Omnis to the original Audition F1s, and the Mirages are substantially better. In particular, they are not as bright and the bass is more defined.

The way-ay-ting is the har-dest part!

It is sitting on a shelf in the closet.:o Perhaps I will try to sell it. Based on last night's listening session, I may well listen to the CA speakers once and immediately return them. The Mirages just sound fan-freakin'-tastic! It may be that no "upgrade" from them is possible without spending...

The way-ay-ting is the har-dest part!

The usual endless upgrade spiral. First I got my Mirage 350s and loved them. Then I upgraded my electronics to Cambridge Audio Azur, and heard a very definite improvement in SQ. Finally, I read that Cambridge recommends the S30s for use with the Azur electronics, and new I had to try them. I...

The way-ay-ting is the har-dest part!

I have ordered some new speakers (Cambridge Audio S30s), and waiting for them to arrive is driving me nuts. There is no guarantee that I will like them, but hearing them is the only way to find out. This is why I usually buy from B&Ms. I hate to think what I will be like if I ever order...

    Is it officially over?

The format war has been the main obstacle keeping me away from both formats. If it is really over, I might try BluRay. (Especially if the player prices drop substantially.) Do BluRay players output 720p over component?

    Bye Bye, Athena

Something I noticed while browsing at AudioAdvisor the other day is that the Athena LS-100 has both the same drivers and the same cabinet profile as the Mirage Omni 150s. Since the 150s sound excellent, I have no doubt that the LS-100s do to, and right now you can get them on clearance for $100...

    Should I Bi-amp or Bi-wire?

Actually, I did not stop at the "no evidence" argument, but provided a very clear explanation of exactly why biwiring does not and cannot make any difference whatsoever. Please refer to post #16.

    Vision vs. Audio

You are suggesting that there were 40" tubes at one time? I never heard of such a beast! Sheesh, my 34" (widescreen) tube weighs 200 lb!

    Should I Bi-amp or Bi-wire?

Here is a diagram comparing biwiring and single-wiring: Notice that the only difference is the location of junctions "a". It is not merely that biwiring does not make a difference, but that it cannot.
