Received my Carnegie CSB1's today, a lot of people wanted to know what I thought...

When did you order? I've been buying stuff from him for over 10 years.
I placed the order with Danny on a Thursday afternoon, (9-26) but they didn't ship from Carnegie until the following Wednesday, (10-2). So maybe Carnegie sat on the order. Funny thing is though they set up a shipment with Fed-X for Monday. Had they actually shipped on Monday I would have had them last Friday.

They're supposed to be here tomorrow according to Fed-X.

They might have been checking the boxes since my CSB-1s showed up with no grilles (which I now have). That means I ordered the same day as you and mine showed up Sat. while I wasn't here. If yours is all the speakers together too, it is a much larger shipment so may ship differently.

I went this this little fellow off amazon for $65....I could not go with the little 20W one I was worried it was to small un underpowered.

Amazon.com: SMSL SA50 50WX2 TDA7492 Class T Amp Integrated Tripath Stereo Amplifier Black: Electronics
How much more power that will have over the lepai 2020, Isn't that 50w @ 4ohms? What is the rating at 8? With the csb1's the difference looks like it will be around 2bd increase so something like 91db vs 93db? Them amps look pretty good though...

I made some new speaker cables for the csb1's today, I did them in black and white since they are black speakers and I haven't used the black and white much... The cables I was using were like 15 feet long that I made for a set of speakers a while back, these are the perfect length for where the speakers are going... I am getting too good at this, I can finish a set of cables, all heat shrink'd and soldered ends in 15 minutes... These are around 6 feet long, 12 gauge copper cable, 13mm b/w checkered techflex, sewell bananas, and Knu concepts 12 ga pants... I like how the 13mm techflex stretches a little with the 12ga wire so the copper shines through a little...

I plugged them in and played a few songs while I worked out tonight, these cables really opened up the soundstage, the csb1's feel much more dynamic and the output sounds sooo much louder and cleaner {Just kidding, it sounds exactly the same as it would if I used that cable that comes with an Onkyo HTIB, but they look really good... lol} Total cost to make a cable like this is around $9.... Post here if you want more info, BUT WARNING YOUR SPEAKERS WILL SOUND EXACTLY THE SAME AS MOST OTHER CABLES THAT COST MORE OR LESS>>>>>

Looks like a jump rope.

In all seriousness, they look like they will blend quite well with anything.

I'll be ordering the towers tomorrow morning.

That is too funny, my son was using one as a jump rope while I was making the other, until his mother seen him jumping rope on her kitchen floor, lol....

I am going to be going through all of my systems, I am changing the room with the jade towers and wd subs, that is going to be just the csb1's with a set of svs sb12 nsd's all in piano, with the parasound and twin outlaw 2200's, then the jades are going to go back in there boxes with the subs for a while to cut down on the clutter, as will the carver mono blocks and the sherbourn preamp...

I think you are right on the quoted power rating. I felt that the thing is using a 4.5 A power supply vs a 2 A supply on the Lepai was a strong indication I was going to gain some stronger power. It looks a lot more clean and polished also.

I'll take a 6' set please. :D

Seriously though, how much would you charge for a set? I have no idea what these terminals are that Carnegie uses. I've got banana plugs on my cables.

I love my SMSL's and the wait time has never been too bad. About a week both times. High quality parts, a good looking case and as far as I can tell it delivers the power it claims.

I have some extra connectors that will work that you can buy off me cheap, or I can make you some cables too, using the connectors provided with the speakers. I didn't change my cables from what I was already using (BFA) and they work fine. Nothing "opened up" on anything though :)

I will have to look into that....I thought that the one I ordered had it included...I though I saw a pic of a power supply. I must be looking at to many options at one time and getting them crossed up in my head.
It does look like it's included, except the plug. I'm sure you have old PC plugs lying around at home.

How can you not...they purposely change the adaptor shapes every model year and by manufacturer so you can not reuse them for anything....until now!!!

If you would have bought it on ebay they would have not included it.

Banana plugs fit in the carnegie's just fine... They come with some small pins but the bananas will work... Thats what I am using... I didn't use the ones that carnegie sent with the speakers, because I am a rebel....

The only better deal in speaker cables than making them yourself if the Choseal stuff, them cables just look expensive lol I have a set they are really heavy and well made, just impressive lokoing I guess, plus they open up the sound sooo much, they made my bose cubes sound like $20K sonus bookshelfs!!!! lol... but seriously for $45 each they are sick...
