FYI, they have battery powered ones with an indoor chime.

Got a rechargeable one with a recording peep hole (apparently no one can figure out what the button with the little bell on it does)...
Put a sticky note on the door with an arrow pointing to the button with the bell on it and prominently labeled it "DOOR BELL" (that worked for nearly 50% of the people); eventually the sticky note will fall off; hopefully, by then most people will have figured it out...

..Then I installed the Door knocker.

Picked up the Founder 100Fs this morning.

Set them up and took a measurement at the central listening position with no subs or EQ active:

Reference level was 75db and they're hitting 35Hz in room at that with room gain. 27Hz at -6 from the reference level. The room is doing it's usual funky stuff with the 70-300 range.

I don't think I'm going to bother applying EQ over 500 Hz on these.

Sadly, where my old studios just powered through the low end, these do not and exposed a nasty null/cancellation in the low 20s that I will probably have to try an move the sub to fix. Might have invest in a wireless transmitter to try positions across the room.

I expect 3 new Belkin Surge protectors to be delivered tomorrow. 2 with 2200 Joules and 1 with 3550 Joules. I have 2 more yet to replace. We have to many power outages and the Elec company is still working on upgrading the substation, on our side of town. Then too, we have transformers blown due to squirrels. They just recently did some tree trimming and shut down electricity for 3 hours. Then the other day, it was out for an hour. In our city location, the poles run between backyard properties or on an easement. Too many trees planted since 1960, near back yard easements, per saaay.

These just arrived. "Guitar Heaven" sounds wonderful on my (Kef) system. I bet it would sound amazing on @TLS Guy 's system! Basically stripped down surf rock. Well, most of the album is of the surf variety.

The new tweeters arrived yesterday and got installed...
The results are similar to installing a new, upgraded, performance engine in a beloved sports car...

THE GRINS ARE BACK!!! ... Toys should make you grin whenever you think about them...

The resulting sound improved my whole system!
... wider, deeper sound stage...
I hear music that I have despaired of ever hearing again...
Clear, transparent, precise highs with mellow mid-ranges; spent the last 6 hours listening.

Overhauls can make a huge difference in speakers; not just vehicles.
As soon as Human Speakers opens, today, I am going to order a, complete set of spare drivers, as insurance..
I am going to be looking for used EPI cabinets/boxes...
If I can find a pair of the old EPI towers these poke r700's are going into the dumpster! (after appropriate verification, naturally).

I poked around their (his) website and it's kind of odd. He's not terribly far from me, about an hour and 20 minutes away.

Odd that none of the audio dealers in the area offer his Human Speakers products, though another speaker builder in the same area sells quite well through worldwide distribution channels. That would be Sonner Audio in Merrimack NH.

On the Human Speakers website it becomes clear he's a one-guy operation and he even has pages detailing his own systems in his home. Of course I expect he'd have his own product, but what surprises me is that he's using older consumer-level equipment to drive them.

I've never seen any reviews or measurements of those speakers, though he seems passionate about them and the Genesis, EPI, and Epicure speakers that he restores and sells.

Glad you like them. I know Polk R700's are well-regarded, so if your discarding them I'm sure someone will pick through your trash.

Almost 11 weeks after I ordered and paid for my Row One Calveri chair for my music room, it's here!

When my dealer placed their order the day I paid (June 7th) the company in California verbally acknowledged the order but never entered it in their system. Eight weeks in I asked "where is it?" and that's when my dealer found out it's was never going to ship. They had it shipped common carrier direct to them, and today two of the guys from my dealer brought it. They had to partially disassemble the chair to get it up to my 3rd floor music room, but it's done and it's amazing!

Big, indeed, but I don't even notice once I'm in it... I don't even sense it. The arm tops slide back to reveal cup holders. The front of the arms extend out to reveal big, deep storage space. No clue what if anything I might put in them but it's nice to have.

Foot rest rises, back reclines, top of back folds flat. I retain the cheap black tall back chair for me to use when I have a guest in the sweet spot/new chair. The Eames replica that was there is going to be sold off.

Just received and listening to the new Deep Purple Made in Japan box set. I remember buying the 2 album set back in the day (actually I begged my Dad to buy it for me because I was too young to have a job). I like the Steve Wilson remix. I don’t like everything he’s remixed but this one is a winner. Will be listening to the 3 full concerts too. One of the best live albums ever.

These arrived Thursday:

I used them to move two SVS SB-1000s from my theatre room to the living room to supplement the front sub that was struggling with a 20-24 Hz dip. I wanted them at the back of the room and given the layout, wireless seemed to make sense. The MRX-540 also only has a one LFE out, so this conveniently splits the signal nicely into two with no volume loss.

I was able to get both of my old Rel T3s repaired after XMas this year, so they'll be replacing the SB-1000s in the main theatre. The JL Fathom will do the heavy lifting down deep there.

Two 8' lengths of Blue Jeans Cable LC-2 subwoofer cable and and their male to dual female splitter.

I split sub out two from my AVM 70 in the theatre a while ago and used some supposedly "good" Maestro brand cables from the local shop. I noted some hum when I did so but was able to lower it enough to just proceed. When I was switching back to the old pair of Rel T3s down there after moving the SB-1000s upstairs, it was really bothering me and I decided to do something about it.

The LC-2's aren't super expensive as far as "fancy" cabling goes but the two plus the splitter did cost me $175 CAD, including priorty shipping for $20 USD - so not exactly cheap either. They arrived to day and I replaced the old stuff. Hum that was audible at 1/3rd volume on LFE dial is completely gone even at maximum LFE dial now. Maybe you can get something else as well shielded for less, but these worked so well that I consider it worth the cost.

Glad it’s working for you. I’ve had a good experience with Blue Jeans Cables. Great customer service. Mostly US made and/or assembled. I find them a good value. Not too expensive but not cheap. sound good which is most important.

Pixel 10 Pro - Downsized from the Pro 9 XL. I already have a iPhone 16 Pro Max, two big phones is too much!

Definitely prefer the smaller form factor, few upgrades, but over all the best android user experience IMO
