I just recently had time to set up my RZ70 in my tv stand. Downloaded the firmware update from Onkyo TX-RZ70 product page and updated with only the USB thumb drive connected, no HDMI or speaker connections. I upgraded the firmware over USB and it completed successfully. Instructions said to power down from the front panel, and it powered down and back up just fine, so after a few minutes powered it back down.
After a few days I had some time to connect components and speakers. After connecting everything, the unit powered on and I could navigate through the menus on the RZ70 front panel, but the TV received no video signal from any of the Onkyo HDMI outputs. Tried a few different HDMI cables and tried all the HDMI inputs on the TV, still nothing. Powered down and disconnected everything but the TV (including speakers) and tried changing HDMI / ARC / CEC settings but still no video to the TV. Tried factory reset from the menu and that completed fine, but still no video on TV. Reconnected Roku straight to TV and tested each HDMI input and video was fine on each input.
While reading through the manual, I noticed that the unit had powered down and the standby light was off. I didn't notice any clicking or popping noises beforehand. Now the unit will not turn on at all, no standby light. Tried another power cable and connected to another outlet and another power strip. Seems dead. I'm outside the return window (bought from Audio Advice)
Not really sure what to try next. I didn't open it up to check fuses, in case that would void warranty.
