Hello & Merry Christmas!
I have a Onkyo receiver & older surround system.
I want to upgrade my fronts for music.
Everyone says Klipsch has the most punch, but I want something that will bring out detail I maybe haven't heard before.

Looking at:
Emotiva T1+
Triangle Borea BR08
ELAC Debut 2.0 F6.2
Wharfedale Diamond 12.4
Klipsch RP-800F

Not many showrooms close anymore (BestBuy) My favorite old speakers were Infinity SM152s! but I think my tastes have mellowed. :-D

I'd add the JBL 590 when it goes on sale ($900/pr isn't unusual a few times a year). Not a Klipsch fan (altho curious about the RP8000s) nor any experience with the other brands myself but am not shy about ordering over the internet as long as there is a decent return policy. What do you have now?

I would go for the HECO Aurora 1000s. They will cost a tad bit more than $1k. Something else worth considering in that price range is definitely the Monolith THX-460 which is on sale for 570 each at the moment. Either of those should be a step above the ones you are considering.

not sure if the Crutchfield speaker comparison tool is useful, but now I like the Paradigm SE30000F ! :-D
If I understand your system from that post, your original setup sounds fairly decent, and if you really want to upgrade I'd save up more and aim higher.

I will vouch for the Monolith 460s. Really noticed the soud effects of the L/R on those being very special. Shady would probably be able to say why. But I think they are good towers. But I'm 100% TV/Streaming/Movies so I really didn't play music on them but don't see why they would not be good for that too.

Amazon now has the Heco 1000 for under $900 for a pair with returns available, by which I am very tempted.

For a 50/50 mix of two-channel music listening(with no sub) and multi-channel movie watching(with sub), would you go with the BMR Tower or ELX Tower? They are fairly similar in price.
I'd like to try both :) I'd probably choose Philharmonic HT Tower/Center, have wanted to try one of Dennis' speakers for a while.....and the BMR Tower would work, too; I already have some Ascend (not the tower), tho.

I picked mine up from Upscale Audio for $431/ea. they are $479 now.

edit: looks like only gloss white at that price right now.
Nice, but not in white for me....they have the same 616 price otherwise, guess its one of the JBL system wide sales. F36 isn't too bad at 1540 pr either, then there's the F206 at 2695 the pair....

Thanks for the advice. I got the HECO Aurora 700s in white for a deal.
Turned it down by 1/3 to get an equivalent volume :)
Even at the same volume they sound more lively, dynamic, detailed than my old speakers

What are your old speakers? If you posted it, I missed it.
