The 3700 is only $1,200. That doesn't seem bad at all...it doesn't provide what I want in terms of gaming (xbox series x) but if thats the receiver that is going to be best for me I might as well buy it right away, right?

The Arcam that the sales guy suggested was the AVR10 or 20 (i forget) but told me they only power 7 speakers (but can utilize 11 if powered separately) so he suggested I get a separate amp to power the 2 rears...I don't think I want to go through all that if I am not getting a huge upgrade in sound quality (the receiver was $2,500 that he quotes, didn't quote me on the separate amp)
First if you have to add an external amp I would not amp the rear speakers I would use the external amp for your main left and right speakers your receiver will handle all the others

The AVR10 is also not 4 ohm stable

"The impedance ranges between 4 and 7 ohms for most of the audioband, though there are dips to 3.6 ohms at 100Hz and 3.2 or 3.7 ohms at 2.9kHz, depending on whether the HF control switch is set to its maximum or minimum, respectively. The phase angle is generally low, or high only when the impedance is also high, ameliorating its effect. However, the combination of 5 ohms and –50° at 25Hz means that the F208 will need to be driven by a good 4 ohm-rated amplifier."

Look where the 3700 is and then look at the Arcam10 where that is

#3, use what you have for now, save some pennies and wait for an AVR this year that is proven to work with your Series X when set at 4K/HDR @120. No reason to buy one now that cannot do what you want it to do just to turn around and get another one later anyway. But, enjoy whatever setup you decide on.

I am very impatient. I want everything to just work now!

I know you guys are saying wait until a receiver can deliver the 4K/120Hz but if eArc works correctly there really isn't a downside to connecting the xbox series x directly to my LG CX OLED tv right? I will be getting the full quality audio just like if I were directly connected to the receiver, right? The TV has 4K/120Hz, VRR, ALLM.

If I go the route of...F it...I will just connect the xbox to my TV for the next couple of years...then what receiver should I get now to get the best out of my system? 3600? 3700? 4700? Different brand?

3600 (vs 3700) - No HDR10+, No Dynamic HDR, No Dolby Vision
3700 (vs 4700) - No DDSC HD Digital, No Alpha Processing, No Auro 3D, No Jitter Reduction, No Bass Sync, No gold played RCA terminals, Two sets of powerful DSP chips (3700) vs. Two dual SHARC+ core DSP (4700)

Questions:
1) What is DDSC HD Digital? The 4700 has a "32 bit" whereas the 3700 doesn't have it
2) What is Alpha processing? the 4700 has AL32 Processing Multichannel whereas the 3700 doesn't have it
3) What is Auro 3D? When would I be able to "use" it? I know/understand Atmos and DTS-X (those audio tracks are on Blu-Ray discs and the receiver decodes the track and uses that to throw the sound to locations rather than specific speakers). What/who uses Auro 3D? Is it a big deal to have?
4) Can you give me a "what is Jitter reduction for dummies" explanation? Do I care about the Jitter reduction for non-gaming video? (i.e. TV and Blu-Ray)
5) Bass sync? What does this do on the 4700 vs the 3700 which does not have it. I will have 2xPB-3000 SVS subs in the new setup.
6) Do I care about gold plated RCA terminals?

This is the comparison link I used to look at the 3700 vs 4700

Now you're overthinking stuff. Did you not look at the chart I posted where the 3700 stands against other receivers???
But if you want to get the 4700 again that's at the top of the Heap good receiver also

I did look at the graph. The 3600 is rated at 99 and the 4700 is rated at 97 so I was assuming they are very comparable in terms of quality.

The 3600 just doesn't have the features I want (HDR10+, Dynamic HDR to name a few) so that is when I started looking at the 3700 instead...but when I looked at the 3700 it led me to compare it to the 4700...and that is why I wrote the previous post with those questions...to see if the upgrade from the 3700 to the 4700 is worth it.

I believe I am going to buy a new receiver now and just connect the Xbox to the TV and utilize eArc...if that works correctly I am fine with running the xbox to the tv and it will allow me to buy the right AVR right now and not lose 2 of the ceiling speakers because my current AVR can only do 7 channels.

I mean I think the 4700 is like $500 more and does give you some more stuff so it's matter of whether you think it's worthwhile if you're going to use those features

Exactly. That is why I was asking about the features that the 4700 has (i.e. DDSC HD, Alpha Processing, Auro 3D, Jitter reduction and Bass sync)

I do not know what these feature do and was asking if those are things are worth paying more $$$ for.

They 4700 is going to output more watts but again, not sure if that is going to translate into better/clearer sound or not.

I have a Denon with ALS 24 and one with ALS32. Beats me what they do particularly, let alone a difference, I figure it's just marketing mostly.....maybe call it Denon's HDAM but different. Never found a use for the bass sync feature. Jitter I wouldn't worry about. The difference in power isn't significant. Pick the one the feature set/price is best for you....

I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who commented and shared their knowledge and advice on my system. It is currently being installed as we speak. Here is what I went with

TV : LG OLED CX 77"
Receiver : Denon AVR-X3700H
Center : Revel C208
Fronts : 2 x Revel F208 (but they are on backorder until June so they let me borrow their 206s they have on demo until the 208s come in)
Atmos : 4 x Revel C383
Rears : 2 x Revel S216AM
Subs : 2 x SVS PB-3000

Once they are done installing the system I will take a picture and show the completed project. Again - thank you all

LAST QUESTION (hopefully)
Power...Is there a "best practice" when it comes to powering the subs/receiver? Should I invest in an audio specific power module? Should I plug them directly into the wall? Should I use a $20.00 surge protection strip?
