What are a few best and compatible recommended receivers for KEF R500 with original MRP below $1600? I usually buy the one which on sale or refurbished. I'm actually planning to spend only $1000. But if you recommend a $1600 model, I buy them when it goes on sale for less than $1000. Currently, the option that I'm looking is AVRX4400H on sale for $900

My current setup is in the living room is
1. KEF R500 Front
2. JBL 520c
3. JBL 530 back speakers
4. Denon x4000 - I want to upgrade this with the better receiver and use this receiver in another workout room in the basement
5. HSU VTF-3 MK5 HP Powered

Why not a matching center or is that coming later? Maybe look at the current Denons of that range, like the 4400 which is $1k for a refurb (or maybe look for a 4300 if the Heos features don't matter as much to you).

Get the R200c NOW, before it's unavailable forever. And it's on sale.

What about your current receiver doesn't work for you? Are there features you need that it doesn't have and if so, which ones? How far from the speakers are you and how loud do you like it to be?

I'm 12-13 feet from my R500's (right now in fact, listening to Go Go Penguin) and my NAD T758v2 is just great. Looking forward to Dirac Live before the end of the year, as funds allow for the AM230 upgrade. The T758v3 comes with it.

Denon looks like a good deal. Do you have many hdmi devices? Denon doesn’t certify hdmi so a few people have reported compatibility issues with roku and a few other devices.

Same. About 12 to 13 feet from R500. Yes, I'll buy R200c. I want to Bi-Amp with 7.1. x4000 supports only 5.1 with biAmp. I like very loud sound. I keep 90 to 95 volume.

You need seperate amps as mentioned in the other thread..

Bi-amp only if you're doing a true bi-amp...with actual separate amps. Seriously. I fell into that too, and if you were to read the BS feeds from Crutchfield that you get on Facebook, you might fall into it as well.

If your current Denon had pre-outs, just get a good 7 channel amp. There are some options within budget, better ones with increased budget.

I have been very happy with the AVR-X4400H. It is a great value even at full price. If for some reason, you end up needing more power, simply add a 3 channel (or 2ch plus monoblock etc.) 200/300 WPC external amp for the LCR channels.
