What New Stuff Have You Bought? If You Care To Share Thead! :)

While anything should be better than nothing, I'm surprised there isn't a single mention of the noise reduction level. I had bought a box of 500 pr of Howard Leight in-ear plugs years ago for use in motorcycling (still have more than half) and when I chose I looked at the various Noise Reduction Ratings. The ones I have are a -33dB.

Here at home we use a rotary blade push mower and the only motor driven power tool I have is an Ariens Platinum 30 snowblower with a big 414cc motor. I don't have over ear protection muffs while running that, but a wool hat and thick hood works pretty darn good.
It does in a small box in Description. Specifically,
SNR 26dB,
NRR 31dB,
ANSI S3.19 certified,
EN352-1 certified.

I too used to have a motorbike with straight pipes. I had the foam plus with NRR 33dB. That's my standard too :).

Is this attached to a cabinet or enclosure or directly to the receiver? How about a picture, I'd like to see how you used it.
What about noise? What speed level do you use?
For now (testing mode), it's just sitting on top, running on High mode and pulling air up and out.

I can't hear it at all. There are rubber grommets to isolate it.

I had to take off the shelf with the PS3 and that's why things look like this. Some day I'll get inspired to pull out the shelf and redo all the wiring (old PS3 died and this one has different wires dangled with the previous ones wires neatly zip tied to the rack) and reinstall the PS3 shelf. When I do that, I'll build a cardboard shroud to vent more forward than up.

I think it is safe to say that an unintentional green tinge on the concentric driver is one reason for the delay of the formal release of the ELAC Uni-Fi.
Interestingly, there is no discount for buying the blemished version since people are clamoring to get ahold of these. I like the green look. If they could apply the same treatment to the ELAC emblem to tie it into the design, I think it would be a popular option!
My pair is on the way!

Cant wait to read your opinion on the Elac's KEW. I am really interested, but they are so... boxy and vinyl. Just dont think i could make them work in my living room.

They arrive on Thursday. It looks like I will be comparing them against:
AA's
Energy RC-10
Ascend 340
If they best these 3 speakers, I may throw the Focal Solo6's and/or RBH-61lse's at them. Unfortunately I don't have any speakers available in the $600-$1200/pr. price range that would be a more natural step up from the Ascends.

Got a powerful amplifier? I read a publication that said they were hungry.

Thanks, I had not looked into that! I will probably use Outlaw Model 200 mono-blocs with them.

saw what looked like a killer deal at Salvation Army.....

bought a Hsu Research VTF-3, practically immaculate, metal spike feet, Rosenut exterior, no scratches, $40....they claim it works

I just can't figure out which particular model it is :(
the only other indicator is a sticker at lower left that has RV3D on it

10-12" cone, 2 ports, bunch of controls....could be a Mk4. just need to make sure it works o_O
