Can I trust this AVR?

Does the receiver have Pre-outs? I got the NR1606 and I'm using the Pre-out to my integrated amp to power my Monitor Audio. It would sound significantly better than just using Avr.

Curious, why not use the integrated amp alone?

My amp only has analog in.

I would either need a separate DAC for all my digital input or use the setup that I have. I'm basically using the NR1606 as a hub for xbox, DVD /blueray/Cd, Bluetooth and media player. Even if I get an amp with digital in, it seems simpler for me to use Avr as source and have separate clean power for the music speakers.

Your avr doesn't have clean power?
The Avr is good, but I paired my integrated amp specifically to run my Monitor Audio to get the sound that I like. Since my speakers run bright with AVR, I looked for amp that focused on natural and balanced sound. I have separate Energy front speakers for home theatre use that's connected directly to the AVR.

Many people will be happy with AVR 50w power, but if you research some amps, it will give you cleaner power and drive your speakers better between low to high frequencies. My amp has 80w at 8ohms and 140w at 4ohms, which gives it alot of headroom for dynamic sounds.

I've used a variety of amps over the last 40 years or so and haven't had this experience, and I would think if anything was coloring the sound it would be your avr as pre-amp. I've used amps of a wide variety, of much higher output than 140W into 4 ohm, too (my primary avr does better than 240 at 4 ohm to boot; my power amps much more than that).
