Translation: Alex's photography sucks out loud.
Thou mockest me, Home Slice? :D

BTW, thanks for the bananas, Richard. They came in pretty handy. The double barrel bananas you recommended work well on the amp end.

Just like Alex his cables have no pants...
Cheryl is wearing them. :D

Nice!

That room could use some sound panels.

:D
Hey, here's the thread on those. Solid score imnsho. I hope they work out for you.

I liked what they did to the sound when I had the Dayton BR-1s in here but once the EC came through the wall my placement options became more limited. Eventually I was more or less storing them on the walls and using them as shelves. I think the MB-27s behave better off axis and benefit less from attenuating reflected sound.

You'd think that by now I would be all done in here but I'm finding that taste undergoes a sort of evolution. The panels needed a bigger room. If the fabric doesn't work in your space it's easy enough to swap out or cover up. I'm just glad that somebody wanted them. It was also nice that I didn't have to haul them anywhere.

Looks good, I knew you'd put 'em to good use.

The sheer added weight from the amp and all that gold plated brass you now have in that room might violate some building code .

I have to do some rewiring myself, and I'm dreading it. The six analog RCA cables (two sets of composite video cables) I have running from the BR player to the receiver were just a bit too short at 6 feet. Moving the BR player only an inch made one of the rear channels stop playing. So I bought two sets of 8 foot long composite video cables. I still haven't gotten up to installing them – its one of those jobs I hate.

(two sets of component video cables)
fixed

Oh yeah ... I'm paying close attention. :D

IIRC the room behind your EC is your den? Seems like you could cut a hole in the wall ...

Whatever you do do not try loading two discs into that player at the same time. World War Z on top of Adele made my player sound like a tractor and then the whole thing had to be unplugged in order to turn it off. Of course it had to come apart completely and a few plastic pieces cracked and the front part of the tray simply fell off presumably from the stress of having an Eastern European inside it like that. I really thought I was getting John Garcia's Oppo but the Panny, Adele and World War Z were all fine ... except for the gouges in WWZ. It still played though.

I also re-calibrated that system with the intent of having the 'not-the-money-seat' sound a little like it was the money seat ... but that's a different thread. This is Mantown. In here we don't care what goes on 'out there'.

I'm going to put the panels up today or tomorrow.
I really appreciate the gifts while we were there.

Was thinking of putting them both horizontally right behind our heads behind the couch.
The chief is balking, (about both on same wall) so I'm going to put one downstairs and the other upstairs. In that small room you and Mark were in over the summer.

:DCan't help but wonder if these were a bribe. Since I'm one of the few that know the pet name that Cheryl calls you.:D

Okay, best foot forward, right?

I turned the sub. Here's the orientation before. And everything was different ... BR-1s, Carver, TT on a wobbly @$$ surface ... I could go on.

Now this picture is just wrong but I want GG to imagine just how far up that hairy patch of knee skin goes before we hit something truly hideous. :D

Have a nice day. :)

These are my objectives.

  1. Learn to load up my MP3 player with tunes off my laptop.
  2. Learn to use the sound card to play tunes off the laptop.
  3. Learn to run YPAO and use the memory settings.
  4. Learn to use REW
  5. Learn to use the Behringer DEQ2496.
There are a couple of other things but 5 is my favorite number.

Try not to set your sights too high, man. Plugging a mic into that Yamaha...woah. That's a weekend right there. :D

  • Learn to use REW
  • Learn to use the Behringer DEQ2496.
Okay, now that's a bit more involved. :)
