So now would be a good time to fix the binding posts... LOL. I like what you've done though. The "base pad" to attach the mounts too are a great idea. Heck, you should patent that...hopefully before I do :D

Thanks, John. Those base pads have wood bungs so they're not gonna pop right off for me to redo the binding posts. I tightened the spade connectors down a tad and called it good. That's all from my design phase. I'm over that now. This is my lazy phase. I am mastering it slowly.

I wish I had just used regular binding posts but I slammed this together with parts and pieces I had laying about.
No regrets. Those really look good and the spades work better (for wire management) the way you've used them.

There's always so much to look at and listen to while over at your place. Not to mention all the food Cheryl puts out.
Those speakers sound great there and the positioning is perfect.

Now I wish even more that I'd had the time to get to visit earlier this month. Hopefully next time...

Agreed, no worries on those. Connection is the same IMO, and won't be any stronger, so since it is working, no need to do it again.

You'd think I'd be tired of this by now but since Swerd bullied me into taking the MB27s to a DIY meet I took the opportunity to clean this up some. Here's the empty mount. I wish I had just used regular binding posts but I slammed this together with parts and pieces I had laying about.

Due to the time of day I wasn't able to get a decent shot of the whole thing so here's the R&L action with the window only washing out 3/4 of the pic's.

As you can imagine the other side of the room is a complete mess.
Good Sunday Morning Alex, I was wondering about your wall mounts. I am in a pickle here I think, I bought the Carnegie bookshelves for rear surround duty and more likely than not I will need a mount to attach them to the wall. I see a piece of wood under your bookshelves, what is that all about, did you fasten that to the speaker so that you could then run screws through the sliding bracket into the bottom board??

I answered Rob long ago but that's exactly right.

I've sort of weeded out the stuff I didn't know how to use like this killer DEQ2496 that's now for sale at an incredibly low price for the right New Yorker but that's beside the point.

I've got this armoire ...

... all ready to house this gear:

The wiring has been tidied up and simplified. I removed the MA500U amps and just let the rec'r push the bookshelves to save space (which btw is not expanding nearly fast enough for me).

Normally this would be a problem but the new armoire has a curved top so the TT had to go somewhere ... that sub in a corner like that doesn't move much ... in the seemingly fixed space it occupies.

Thanks to CL, John's Oppo HDMI switch, the death of Windows XP and a long ago purchased $90 Monster HDMI > DVI cable I was able to ditch the TV I needed to see the on screen menu for the 2600 and the old desktop. Still no smartphone.
