Pixel 10 Pro - Downsized from the Pro 9 XL. I already have a iPhone 16 Pro Max, two big phones is too much!

Definitely prefer the smaller form factor, few upgrades, but over all the best android user experience IMO

I'm close to needing a replacement for my Pixel 7 and it's likely going to be another Pixel of some model. I appreciate VERY much the lack of bloatware that other phones come with; apps you can't delete and sometimes can't even disable.

Google gave me $600 for my Pixel 9XL as trade and with promo got $200 store credit for google store. So not a bad trade in deal.

Yeah, their trade deals are very good. I've got an 8 pro, so no need for a new device, but my wife's 7 pro could use an upgrade.

I'm currently using a SMSL PO100 Pro as a DDC which I was generally happy with but seems to have some issues with some very specific albums/styles of music. The same things play fine when bitstreamed via USB to my Topping D70 Pro Sabre. I decided to try another DDC and see if I get a better result with those problem tracks. The topping does have a different USB conversion chipset version so we'll see.

The SU90 is tempting but I'm not willing to spend that much on an experiment. There are also some used Matrix Audio X's out there that are tempting too, but again a bit more than I want to spend on a "to try" right now.

Everything is fine for 99% of the music I run through the DDC but there's one specific genre with a few tracks/albums by a specific artist that have issues. They seem to "skip" (not unlike a CD) at repeatable places in some tracks. This happens on both of the DDCs in use (and then passing on to a DAC) but not when run directly into a DAC into and out as analog. It's quite strange really.

The files in question are flac and I've already tried "alternate" source copies (exact same behavior). It's not a bitrate issue as I have other files with much, much higher bitrates that have no problems at all. I need to try an mp3 copy of the same problem tracks just to see if that's any different.

If I switched back to the optical out from the PC instead of USB to the DDC, it would probably stop (I don't recall an issue before). I switched to the DDCs to maximize signal quality though as the PC's soundboard is an unknown quality whereas the DDC is tested as being quite good. Aside from the small selection of tracks behaving like this, it's generally worked out well. It really just seems like there's something going in some specific tracks that the DDC chipset just has some trouble with.
