The LG C4 has been great. I’ve seen no sign of burn-in but my gaming has been very light. That said, one of the features is that if the TV detects an image that is too static for prolonged periods, it will dim that zone somewhat to help mitigate the risk of burn-in. This would include gaming HUDs and sports tickers and score bars, for example.

Admittedly, I’m really leaning toward a TCL QM8 for the great room, replacing an old Bravia 850… c perhaps? Close to 10 yrs old probably, maybe 11-12. It’s not the main space for deep entertainment, and The Lady likes to pause stuff and walk away. So no 65” c5 for that.

But a 75” QM8?

Walmart just had a major discount on the Bravia X93L which would have been an epic score, even at 2yrs old.

They all have screen refresh processes that run when the set is off that can "reset" burn in effects after use. The problem is that they don't always trigger when they should. RTings did a little piece on this and how you might mitigate it on some set. I believe it was Sony that was the most problematic, LG having some gotchas and Samsung's method being the most reliable for running it - but it's been a while. They may have firmware updated some of those issues out by now as well.

Even beyond that pixel refresh thing though, you still have to be pretty hard on the set to get notable burn-in with modern OLED TVs. Like a logo on screen for 8 hours straight per day or something. Heavy console gamers might need to be a little cautious as well if it's the same game for long stretches with a fixed UI.

I am seriously thinking of picking up a new OLED PC monitor soon. I'm a little more concerned about it there. I figure with the modern mitigations and a relatively short screen sleep time when not in use (which I already use), it's likely to be a non-issue.

I have an OLED PC monitor as well as my oled TV. No burn in on either, with the monitor getting the most abuse.

I seen the LG 65" C3 at my local BB store picture was phenomenal! I want an OLED for my HT setup. I've read that the LG C4 even better (brighter).

I was very hesitant on getting this TCL after my last cheapo Hisense had so many issues. To be honest I wasn't expecting this type of performance out of a 500 buck tv. Really though, no issues as of yet.

I don't have the funds like some of the others here on AH. So I'm always looking for good value deals. I do really want an OLED for my HT setup, just afraid of the burn-in issues. I do fall asleep sometimes, will be for hours then I wake up lol. I'd be heartbroken to wake up to burn in.

I love the very thin panels that LG has on their OLED's. I do like LG's C4 a lot. Been researching that one comparing it to Sony B8. Like you, I had a Plasma cost close to 2k was a 3D tv loved it, sadly lasted only 18 months.

My Plasma refuses to die. It's 14 years old at this point. Burn in is a non-issue at this point. Same as it was with the later gen plasmas.

Think of it this way. If burn in was a massive issue with OLED tvs, they probably wouldn't be selling that many.

I bought a used pair of Revel Concerta2 F35 speakers In black for the main speakers at the lake house setup. Great sounding small towers with decent bass and a sweet top end. Upgraded from a used pair of dipole towers that I’ll now use for a setup with the TV.

I did a run to a hardware store to buy some toggle bolts for these speaker wall mounts. I got them for about $48 taxes in and can support up to 60 lbs. I bought them to replace the mounts I gave to my son inlaw for the surround channels.

I do believe that I failed to mention a major purchase. That was a month ago tomorrow, a 2025 Triumph Tiger Sport 800.

Today I rode it 162 miles round trip though a hellish amount of thick, slow urban traffic to pick up the factory option luggage rack from the dealership where I bought the bike, which allowed me to fit the non-factory Givi B360NT2 Monolock top case I'd got in yesterday. I had received the panniers over a week ago, today I got the color matched infill panels for the panniers.

I've also added factory heated grips, auxiliary power socket, customized Evotech Performance paddock stand bobbins. I love this thing, so capable and comfortable.

I saw a Tiger at work yesterday but not a Sport. It had a decidedly Paris Dakar look to the bags with crash bars and such. Made me think of you.
