Non-audio purchase, though still a considerable investment (one which I'm aware will lose money.)

It's a Certified Pre-owned 2024 Mazda CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus with 11,500 miles on it. As it turns out, I get the remaining 2 yrs/24,000 miles of the original warranty, at which point the CPO warranty of 1yr/12,000 miles kicks in. Overall power train warranty is 7 years/100,000 miles.

It's loaded with technology and will take some time to get accustomed to it. This replaces a 2013 Ford Fusion SE that I had since new and had 213,531 miles on it at trade-in.

We had a 2024 CX-30 as a rental just a week ago and I put around 200 mi on it. It is really a solid car, she liked it and would even consider owning one herself. Her Lexus HS250 is ~15 yrs old now and we've considered replacing it, now after driving that car, Mazda is on the table.

Reports I've read that compare the various offerings from Honda, Toyota, Subaru, and Nissan are giving the current Mazda the edge for handling, braking, and power train. They do give up points on cargo capacity, but this one's got plenty enough for my needs.

Interesting is that Mazda sales are up. 24% over last year while others are tanking. BTW, this model is built in a plant that's a joint venture between Toyota and Mazda, in Huntsville Alabama.

The suspension and steering are the shining point. It feels FAR better than anything else in the class. They've got the right mix for my tastes. It is compliant, but provides a solid, confident feel with great feedback. Brakes are also very good for the segment.

The interior is nice, but maybe a bit dated at this point even for a 2024 model and lacked a few of the latest features, but still feels more upscale in terms of quality vs. the segment. The screen is rather small and is not touch, but it connected to my phone and displayed maps without issue. The trunk area is small-ish, but was plenty big enough for us with room for luggage for 3 of us.

Actually, there is a way to make the wide screen be a touch screen 100% of the time! There's a YouTube video on it.
