I like the record storage rack, does the top portion have detents built in so as to keep the LP's from sliding forward ?

Unfortunately it does not. It was >100 bucks so so surprise. It kind of matches the other wood/metal items I have and was small enough for the spot. The ones in the top seem to stay where I put them so far but they do not have sleeves on them as they are old albums.
