Got the Epson 5050ub hooked up. It's needs some tweaks, a 4k HDMI cables, and maybe new receiver ( hopefully not). My receiver passes the signal when it's off. Will it pass 4k?

Not sure when something is not new anymore, but new subs I got about month or so ago, pair of SVS PB 17 ultras are set up where they are gonna live for now in 2 channel set up for music.The cleanest bass I've ever heard!

@gholt - This unit supports input and output of 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) video signals of HDMI (See page 148 of the manual.)

4K HDMI pass-through

• This receiver is not HDCP 2.2-compliant and will not support copy-protected 4K video content.

It is HDMI 1.4a can only support 4K video at a refresh rate of 24 - See what your Epson can do.

Thanks so much Jim. I'll figure it what cables I need to pass the signal. It's mono price or Blu jeans still the go to for cables.

I think the 24 refresh test is what the Epson does.

It’s about a 5 hour drive from me but it’s very cool and if you go take at least 3 days to see the big distillery’s then tons of booze. My son and I did 5 tasting one day we were very happy to oblige the offering’s from the tours lol . 3 days hammered by noon !

Oh that sounds amazing. Been awhile since I was drunk by noon, but hey, I am certainly not against it lol. My oldest son is home for Christmas, and while he likes bourbon and whiskey(he’s really trying lol) his love is for wine. I went through a wine phase, but whiskey is where it’s at.

You’d have a good time you have to book tours several months in advance but really worth it I’ve always been a bourbon fan my son and I collect mainly good small batch or single barrel . Myself iam a Woodford Reserve Double Oak kind of fella presently lol . Ya ever pass threw Ohio and are close you give me a yell I’ll gladly share a dram of anything I have .

I will definitely be gently suggesting that we travel somewhere that we can do that. My wife doesn’t like whiskey, but I have loved bourbon and whiskey my whole life. Hopefully I can twist her arm. I will also knock on your door if we ever get that way,appreciate the offer. Would love to sample your collection.
Interestingly enough, I just finished a Woodford reserve distillers select. Curious about the double oaked, as the DS is very oaky already. Just picked up a new bottle of KC9. People say how woody the KC12 is. Wonder if it’s similar to the WR double oaked. My friend grabbed a bottle of Angels envy. He said it’s excellent, and I trust his taste. He’s had more than enough top shelf pours in his collection. Someone else recently gifted me some moonshine from Louisiana. Said his guy took it from his private collection. NOT the stuff that’s “for sale” lol. It’s very potent! Oddly smooth too.
