Yeah, they're pricy, but I got them for 40% off MSRP, so only ended up being a few bucks more than the cheaper options. I was kinda hoping ground control would have done something for my model as I had them before and loved them, but no luck.

I don't know man, that sounds like a lot to me! Doing the rears on my car is supposed to be a pain, 5 to 6 hours for just them from what I've heard. Installation is on Friday. I'm excited.
It is a lot, but only because getting everything out takes so long. Truck has 215k miles and is 15 years old at this point so I expected everything to be seized to hell, but I got lucky and only had to cut one bolt. That was fun.

Paradigm Persona C - Center channel. Will hook up tomorrow.

Well finally got this off backorder. Was worried that there might be an issue with the crossover from what I had been reading on AVSforum. My dealer was aware of the problem, put it on the test bench for me and tested fine.

Good thing because if it didnt measure well when I got home, it would have been a back breaking trip back to my dealer. My dealer provided both excellent service and stellar pricing. It is why I try to work with a local dealer whenever possible.

Got to do our master bedroom floor next week, got a Numaxx nailer, hammer, pusher, & 2000 Bostich 16ga L-cleats. It'll be the same American Hickory as you see in the background except I'm not paying a pro crew to do a worse job than I can do.

New ceiling, remove 30 yr old wallpaper (peeling right off, whew!), paint everything, new hardware and some wiring work.

I hate doing it, but love when it's done.

Looks like a great project. I am also very tired of so called pro’s who very rarely take the time to put pride into what they do. Getting the right tools to do it yourself is so much cheaper than hiring a professional while making The job so much easier that for most things I can get the time to do I would rather just do it myself.. pride in workmanship from a professional is a thing of the past for most.

Curious to read what you think about the Genelec. Lot's of on-line praise but never seen any in my area.
My wife made so many comments about how nice those Genelec 8330A sounds in our home office that I, as the dutiful husband, bought a pair for her as well! Not that I needed much prompting :D

I followed that thread on AVSforum as well. Pretty sure it was just a one time manufacturing issue. We used to have two Paradigm dealers in town but we're down to one now and they don't stock the full line. Getting harder to walk into a shop to compare different models first hand. :(
Enjoy your purchase!

Cleaned up the ridiculous gov't-mandated license plate/rear turn indicator holder. Evotech Performance out of the UK shipped to me direct, and I'm so impressed with the quality of the engineering and the machining of the aluminum structure. Nice clean look now, just waiting for funds to accrue to get the sequential-firing LED turn indicators.

I am fortunate that there are 3-4 dealers within 50 miles. The shop I got them Founders 120h 100, 80 and 40s to demo.

I got a pair of Bluetooth earbuds from ofusho. Sound incredible but constantly unseat themselves from my ears. Also picked up a pair of svs prime satellite speakers. Wicked heavy! Haven't had a chance to plug them in yet.

Definitive Tech BP-30s!

So, the ad was for BP-20's, but the terminals are on the bottom of the speakers, so I didn't know until I got them home and laid them down to hook up that they were actually 30's!

When I looked them over at the seller's house, I did see that the rubber surrounds were inverted. I just assumed they were BP-20's that had gotten the woofer recall done (which is how you can tell):

Compared to the Paradigm Eclipse BP:

The Paradigm has an 8" woofer and tweeter, whereas the DefTech has dual 6.5's. So the Eclipse's are about 4" taller and 2" wider. Also about 30 pounds heavier. I can lift the 30's by myself. Not the Paradigms.

We're going on vacation Tuesday morning so I won't get a chance to compare these side by side for a while.

Bonus, for those of us (ahem!) who are into port porn... a little g-string action:

yep forgot the (in) I use a cellphone not the best to use on forums. Also I use Dictation with this phone, with autocorrect I don't always Proofread. My eyesight isn't what it use to be Especially at night in a dark room even with my Prescription glasses on I really catch hell trying to read the very small keyboard on these iPhones

There are dealers east and west of me within 60km but they are small town shops that can't afford a big inventory. Kitchener is only an hour away; I imagine there would be some nice shops around there. Would like to head over to Bay Bloor Radio or Audio Excellence in the GTA just for fun some weekend. Haven't done any serious window shopping in a while. :)
