I read about a few of them online and was about to download one. Then I read the fine print, they want access to a lot of info on your phone, and GPS loc, etc. So I nope, noped my way out of that.

I was thinking of using the memo/note on my phone.

I think the fun from the apps comes from earning "achievements" kind of like on Xbox and Playstation.

Also, the app will let you network with friends to see what they have marked off the list that you have not.

I tried it for a few weeks, but then it just seemed like more work and less fun. But others that I know really have fun with it, it's just not my cup of tea (or pint of brew).

That would probably be the parts I wouldn't like.
I need something to keep track of what I've had.
It was easy 20 years ago, now there are too many breweries and beers.
I guess I'll do it in note pad.

Man, that's a good buddy! This stuff is hard to find. Even the 10 year old. How was it? I've never had a wheated bourbon but I'm willing to give it a shot.

That is a good friend indeed, 15 year is around $500 a bottle around here, lol I have tried them all, good stuff for the retail price but not for the US inflated price...

Yellow is mellow, but brown goes down

Well my liquor store didn't have the Chapman's Englishman I wanted so I ended up with Abita Turbodog. A brown ale of similar style.

I had the Chapman's Englishman at dinner last week at a local place and liked it. They had it on tap. The Englishman only comes in cans, much to the chagrin of ImcLoud, but I opt for a glass anyway.
The Turbodog from Abita was very, very good. A nice balanced, not too sweet, not too bitter easy to drink brown ale with a nice level of carbonation.
Nice aroma's of toffee and coffee with a spicy bitterness.

Highly recommend. May be a bit too watery for some. I found it nicely balanced though with lots of flavor. A definite step up from an ordinary session beer.

He gets it at retail and get this: he poured some for the liquor and beer managers at our local store and they got him another bottle ( at retail)
Now, whatever he wants, they find it for him.
Had some Pliny the Elder last week with him.

Normally I'm a microbrew guy. I'm big fan of Firestone and Lagunitas. Tonight I am drinking some Petite Sirah that I picked up at Savemart for 12 dollars. The only problem is my wife gave away our old wine glasses because she didn't like them. So far we have yet to find a new set that we like... So I have to drink this from a pilsner glass tonight!!!!

My local liquor store has W.L. Weller 12 year old on sale for $14.99. It's a wheated Buffalo Trace bourbon. I wonder how far it is from the Pappy's. I'm kind of new to bourbon drinking. I'm trying to stay open minded and not compare everything to the JD's shots I did 20 years ago. Man, that stuff was awful.

Huh. I just read that Makers Mark is a wheated bourbon. I had that a few years ago and liked it.
