I think the fun from the apps comes from earning "achievements" kind of like on Xbox and Playstation.I read about a few of them online and was about to download one. Then I read the fine print, they want access to a lot of info on your phone, and GPS loc, etc. So I nope, noped my way out of that.
I was thinking of using the memo/note on my phone.
Also, the app will let you network with friends to see what they have marked off the list that you have not.
I tried it for a few weeks, but then it just seemed like more work and less fun. But others that I know really have fun with it, it's just not my cup of tea (or pint of brew).
