Last night, I tried a Sierra Nevada Harvest Single Hop IPA. Pretty dang good. Not very bitter, but with plenty of taste.

I took today off, and I just went to Target. They had something that some of you have talked about for a long time that I had never seen around here but wanted to try: Dogfish Head 60 Minute and 90 Minute IPAs. I bought both. :) I plan to try at least one today.

Ahh! Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, one of my favorites. I could use one right now.

Can't go wrong with those. Nothing beats a fresh IPA though.

I took a three-hour nap, then woke up to a storm. No better time for a 90 Day IPA. :) That was delicious. Just downright delicious.

Glad you liked it! You really have come a long way in trying new beer.
That's one of the most balanced IPAs I can think of, very tasty. It's a little high as far as ABV, so I'll have two and switch to something else.
The 60 minute is a lite version, not as three dimensional as the 90. Kind of a starter IPA, a nice one too.

Thanks, and my journey with beer is directly related to what the stores closest to me have. :) I'd been wanting to try those since I read the first post on them, even heading to the store to see if they had any...but it wasn't until yesterday that I saw some. Target did not have those the last time that I was there, as I tend to peruse their beer section because they have some things that the grocery store doesn't. I know...I know...I could always go to an actual liquor store, but those are so far away. *whine, whine*

If you want a balanced IPA (I prefer very unbalanced/hoppy), the Southern Tier IPA is a good choice.

I'm on my second, and yeah, I might want to switch to something else. Like adrenaline. :D

I find it curious that the 90 Minute is 9% ABV, and the 60 Minute is 6% ABV.

90 minute is a high abv imperial type IPA, 60 is a more mainline IPA.
i don't recommend more than one 90 minute at a sitting, whereas the 60, while not a session beer is more suited to having a couple :)

That said, tonight was Belgian air force( bombers) night.
Started with Ommegang abbey ale, followed a nice Gouden Carolus Triple, and finished with St Bernardus Abt 12 ( with freighbors)
yum!
Cheers, Mac

There is also a 120 minute IPA, but it's not brewed all year long. It runs 15% to 20%, so when you see it, it's usually only sold in single 12oz bottles at around $10 or more a pop.

And when I visited the DFH brewpub, they do a "75 Minute IPA" that is made by mixing equal parts 60 and 90 directly off the tap. Dang, the brewpub has really good food too!

"Curious" was the wrong word. I just meant I found the correlation between the numbers interesting. :) 90 Minute = 9%, 60 Minute = 6%. Yeah, I like numbers...

This is currently my goto IPA, the Austin Beerworks Fire Eagle American IPA. Dang, clean, fresh, plenty of hoppy bite, goes down smooth. They nailed it!
Austin Beerworks: Brewers Hell-Bent on Excellence

If you saw the 99 Beer Case of Peacekeeper that made the news, this is the same brewery. They were producing for maybe 9 months when they won their first GABF medal!

Maybe some of you guys in Houston or DFW can get your hands on some, the rest of yall probably can't.

I'm glad you got to try that place. I wanted to go there last night, but it was too crowded. I went somewhere else and settled for Loose Cannon.

That was a continuation of the buccaneer theme. Loose Cannon wasn't bad, but I think I liked the Piraat Ale I had last week better. Aarrgh!

last night I drank 2 Mai Tai's from a local restaurant, they were delicious, I also felt like having a huge piece of steak, but they only had 9oz filet or 11oz ny strips, so I got the 24oz prime rib with swiss and blue cheese on top and a side of steamed broccoli lol {have to keep it healthy}... Then I didn't feel good so ended the night with some ginger ale... One of the only times I wish I ate what my wife ordered she had a mix salad with raspberry vinaigrette and it had all kinds of nuts on top with sliced strawberries, I should have just ate one of those with some grilled chicken and I would feel much better rite now...
But the mongolian mai tias were delicious

Sam Adams "New World" again. I forgot it existed until I went back to a store that sold it. Pretty tasty, and 10% ABV.

I have done that, lol.. I have ordered 2 orders of chicken on my chicken salad.. Once when I was heavy training and carb loading plus trying to consume as much protein as I could I ordered 2 surf and turfs and an order of stuffed mushrooms{which was 2- 1.5lb lobsters, 2- 16oz steaks, 2 orders of baked potatoes, 2 side salads, and 6 mushroom caps stuffed with sausage...} It has been a couple years since I have trained serious enough to warrant that behavior, but it was delicious.. note- I didn't have any butter or eat the fat from the meat...
