Dang no STP, that sucks.

The Harris campus is closed tomorrow, which means I'm supposed to work from home. Unless the power goes out of course.

I was supposed to go see the Stone Temple Pilots tomorrow night at the UCF Arena. :(

Tomorrow's Orlando Show Postponed Due to Weather
August 18th, 2008
Tomorrow's show at the UCF Arena in Orlando, FL has been postponed due to the impending hurricane. STP looks forward to returning to Orlando soon and hopes everyone stays safe during the storm.

I guess that means you can go to work instead? jk

It's gonna be really wet and rainy here for the next couple days since the new forcast path puts the storm right on top of us. As long as the power stays up it's all good. Not that it matters to me since I'll be going into the "command bunker" this morning at work.

(They had better keep the T-1 up today so I can at least surf the web)

Of course everyone here panicked and closed the schools, etc... Looks like we'll miss it for the most part in Central/Tampa area.

Very boring outside here... no real wind/rain yet. I talked to some friends and pretty much everyone ended up going to work today except for us Harris people. Florida Tech is about the only school open today in the area, seems like they were the ones with common sense (but students still b*tching on the email forum :))

Brevard County Schools are closed on Wednesday, too. I'm just waiting for the word from my "brain trust" at Panic Central to decide if we're going to stay closed, too. It doesn't matter to me, I'm here no matter what. It sucks be the only exempt employee around here while everybody else is getting 2 1/2 times pay for working today.

Looks like Fay is heading straight for Steven for a cup of coffee then back inland to the NW.

Thinking now I should have put my Hurricane Shutters up on my windows facing east.

Wuss. :p

I didn't bother putting mine up either. I can remember when storms like this came through we would sit out on the screened porch and watch the wind blow. This is nothing.

I've been wanting to buy a few of these clear plastic panels. Put just one in the center of the steel panels to allow a little light through.

Just a little Hurricane nerves after losing my house in 04'.

I was thinking the same thing when I purchased the shutters. A buddy on mine in West Melbourne has them, and they do let light in.

As of 7 pm EDT, Tropical Storm Fay is located about 45 miles south-southwest of Melbourne, Florida. Fay is moving to the north-northeast at just 7 mph. This northward motion is expected to continue through the night as Fay sluggishly crosses the Florida Peninsula.
