She hasn't even seen it yet!!! Who knows if it will even make it into the house.
OMG- Jen will kill you if that appears behind the sofa one day without her prior knowledge!

Standby fellow forum members. This could get interesting. :)

(Hey, put some wheels and a trailer hitch on it and you could use it as a travel trailer when she kicks you out)

I did tell her tonight when she asked and I said, "you see that sub over there (PA-120), take that and stack it two high, two deep and two wide and it will be close." I got nothing but silence.

Tell her it's a work of art!

I think Chris just came up with a name for this sub.

The Fainting Goat or maybe the Goat Fainter

TLS - I want a tractor so bad I can taste it. We keep talking about eventually buying siome land in TN or GA. I would like 20 acres or so. All I want is a green tractor with a back-ho and scooper in front so I can just go around digging holes and pushing dirt around. I want 3 miniature cows, some dogs, and the ability to relax on my pseudo farm. It would be a complete 180 from where I'm at today. I'm looing forward to it. I've also thought about getting a small herd of those fainting goats (google it). I think it would a lot of fun just to sit in a lawn chair all day drinking beer with my air horn!

I say you get a poll posted for naming your sub. Or in the great traditions of Ball Parks you can sell your sou... Er I mean you can sell naming rights.

I vote for kidney punch.

So Matt, what veneer did you decide on? Did you see tha last set of speakers Jim Salk did with book-matched burled walnut veneers? This would be awesome on a project that large.

I really am liking that Dave, but don't know how to specify that type of pattern. All the ones I've looked at are like this:

Maybe I need to talk to Mr. Salk.;)

I think that is normally something that wouldn't be used with burled walnut veneer. The light colored part is the outer sap line that would normally be cut off. In this case, the sap line are spliced into book-matched panels.

Hmm interesting and probably more expensive because of it...but I do like the burled walnut enough that I just might order some. I just need to find a place that sells big sheets of it (36x36").

Just sick....absolutely incredible bass!!!!!:D

Had to bring it in for testing purposes, hooked it up to a Emotiva BPA-1 mono at 125w:

Size comparison to the PA-120

Threw in some test tones 20-80hz and the entire house was shaking, the fireplace sounded like it wanted to cave in on itself.

Terminator: Salvation where the giant robot goes on a rampage at the gas station is awesome!

Going to keep it in the house for a little while until I figure out the finish on it.

When I can get the wife and kid out of the house I'll get the rat shack SPL meter out and mess with the SMS-1 some more. Right now though, it's just a beast and like Dr. Mark said, just effortless bass.;)
