I've been hooked for a long time, this is just kinda like finding really cheap drugs for a total crack headMatt
Glad to hear about your experience with the Tritrix. And now your going to build both the Statements and the ER18s. Yeah, I'd say you're hooked. There are more than a few of us who would like to know your impressions of these two speakers.
Have you checked the prices of the drivers lately? There have been some big price increases.
I love living vicariously through someone else's speaker life.*taps fingers together*
Just as planned![]()

I'm good w/ it! Too bad we're all so far apart, would be fun to fuel the fire, if that's even possible! Pretty sure it's already a ragerI love living vicariously through someone else's speaker life.![]()
I feel like I'm about 5 years old waiting for christmas!! Speakers...... Ordered!!!!!!!!! Can't wait! $1612.00 for everythingIf you're having this much fun with the TT's, just wait until you build your new ones!
I am getting ready to build the ER18's I think, or the 1801... I still cant make up my mind... The ER18s may sound better, but the 1801 seems to have better components.. At some point I will probably build a sub, I have one now but just a cheap yamahaFar as the price increase, thanks for that info! I checked and including the port parts and all (not including any cabinet material), the statements are $875, so a bit of an increase on those. And the ER18's are $650. Hoping to order up this coming week!!
Another huge thanks to everyone here for all the help and info, I'll for sure start new threads to document progress. Then, can't wait for the listening impressions!!!
I could see that happening. It'll be nice having 3 pair, I can listen to one while I finish the others. But I'll for sure completely assemble em and hammer on em for a bit before any cabinet finish work gets done. Never been good at the whole self control/patience thingHopefully you don't do what I did and get too excited to hear your speakers before you get a chance to actually finish them. I spent months listening to raw MDF speakers and hated to break them down to finally finish them.
I'll try not to take a year w/ these n let you know how they sound. I don't think I've seen the 1801's. I got the ER18's strictly based on skyline's impressions of em plus I love the way they look. The ER18 MTMs have more bass radiating area. The midwoofers do use a shorting ring to keep distortion low.I am getting ready to build the ER18's I think, or the 1801...
