Matt

Glad to hear about your experience with the Tritrix. And now your going to build both the Statements and the ER18s. Yeah, I'd say you're hooked . There are more than a few of us who would like to know your impressions of these two speakers.

Have you checked the prices of the drivers lately? There have been some big price increases.
I've been hooked for a long time, this is just kinda like finding really cheap drugs for a total crack head :D! Plus I love to build cabinets- absolutely love to build; and I don't just mean speakers, all kinds of cabinets. I've actually never built a nice looking speaker cabinet so this will be a first and I can't wait to finish them all!!

Far as the price increase, thanks for that info! I checked and including the port parts and all (not including any cabinet material), the statements are $875, so a bit of an increase on those. And the ER18's are $650. Hoping to order up this coming week!!

Another huge thanks to everyone here for all the help and info, I'll for sure start new threads to document progress. Then, can't wait for the listening impressions!!!

Just as planned :D
I love living vicariously through someone else's speaker life.:D
I'm good w/ it! Too bad we're all so far apart, would be fun to fuel the fire, if that's even possible! Pretty sure it's already a rager :)!

I still can't get over these tritrix, at how loud they play w/out distortion. The wife's in Grand Rapids w/ the kids at an art festsival so I have the house to myself working on a kitchen reface side job I started too long ago  and probably shouldn't have taken. Ipod on shuffle and Pink Floyd's The Thin Ice comes on. Right off shuffle and let The Wall play from The Thin Ice all the way thru Another Brick In the Wall pt 2 at 3/4 volume thru the Kenwood. They take every inch of it!! I keep waiting to blow the Daytons right out of the cabinets but those babys just keep asking for more :D! Pretty sure at this point the neigbors think I'm a raging alchoholic, but at least I'm having fun!

If you're having this much fun with the TT's, just wait until you build your new ones!

Hopefully you don't do what I did and get too excited to hear your speakers before you get a chance to actually finish them. I spent months listening to raw MDF speakers and hated to break them down to finally finish them.

I am getting ready to build the ER18's I think, or the 1801... I still cant make up my mind... The ER18s may sound better, but the 1801 seems to have better components.. At some point I will probably build a sub, I have one now but just a cheap yamaha :(

I could see that happening. It'll be nice having 3 pair, I can listen to one while I finish the others. But I'll for sure completely assemble em and hammer on em for a bit before any cabinet finish work gets done. Never been good at the whole self control/patience thing ;). Wife said the stuff from PE showed up today. I expect Madisound to come either tomorrow or Friday. Madison WI is just across the pond...

I'll try not to take a year w/ these n let you know how they sound. I don't think I've seen the 1801's. I got the ER18's strictly based on skyline's impressions of em plus I love the way they look. He's a good salesman!

The ER18 MTMs have more bass radiating area. The midwoofers do use a shorting ring to keep distortion low.

The 1801s do have a better midwoofer that costs a good bit more...with magnesium cone and dual shorting rings But it should have less bass capability as it has half the bass radiating area.

As for hiquphon dome vs fountek ribbon, it may just be an individual preference based on your musical tastes. Both are good, pricey drivers.

Figured they'd have the kit on sale too, I just didn't check :)
