Onkyo/Pioneer for value, features at their price point.

For higher end, Marantz. The sound, advanced features and reliability are hard to beat. They've been at the top for many years.
Winning a SR6013 with its ability to do 9.2 and advanced EQ would be a dream. I know I could never afford it on my fixed disability income. Kinda ironic that now I have more time to listen.

Have had various brands over the years: Kenwood, pioneer, Yamaha and Marantz.

Marantz and Pioneer are my favorite ones based on sound and features, with an edge to Marantz on sound quality.

Onkyo. I have the flagship 3030 11.2 channel, which is an awesome amp. I like Onkyo for its bi-amping capability and 4 sub inputs. Marantz is a close second though.

Honestly, I think Marantz does an amazing job matrixing two channel sources to 5, 7, and 9.1 setups. Plus, they have the best design out of the brands mentioned, stay relatively cool, and I've never had an issue with their HDMI boards (I've had issues with onkyos in the past). Marantz all day every day.

I haven't owned them all but have had Denon and Pioneer Elite and loved both of them

Marantz. I really like the versatility of Marantz's musical warmth and home theater emersion. I'm definitely in the market to upgrade from my Kenwood VR 6070.

Onkyo. I've used three Onkyo receivers so far and had great results. The price and value when I purchased them was also appealing.

Marantz and Nad, they just sound great with my speakers, warm, accurate, and musical.

Tough call--But would first look at Marantz and Onkyo

Pioneer Elite receivers are my current favorite, but I have also loved Onkyo.

Marantz for overall design or Onkyo for massive power supply

Denon.

I've been happy with quality and reliability, and there are some specific feautres I like (Audyssey and individual xoversl settings for example). Probably would like Marantz equally, but there are usually better deals on Denon than on comparable Marantz.

B. Marantz! I love the quality of the processing and the sound it delivers. It was one of my first real HiFi receivers. Switched to Onkyo about 12 years ago, due to features included at a lower price point, but after capaciter issues, and multiple failed HDMI boards. My next reciever will be Denon or another Marantz ;) Looking to move to a new brand.
