Yeah, I never tried that one. I think at some point one can have too many hops. Not saying I wouldn't try it, it's prolly pretty strong tasting.
Too many hops is like too many subs? It's a potent brew, a tad bitter :)

I used to go to Sun Devil Liquor pretty often for those hard to find beers and wine. Looks a lot better on the inside. Their basement is pretty amazing. Just a really cool, chill place. I love going there.

They don't have a website from the looks of it, just a fb page. You can scroll side to side to view more pics to get an idea. They have all kinds of esoteric beer (hundreds? thousands?), wine and liquor. They even have some of Maynard Keenan's wine.

I've had more than one 6 pack of their IPA. I was on a kick for a while and tried quite a few different brands. Even made a couple beer snob friends. :)

On the rare occasion that I do drink, Sam Adam's Boston Lager is my go to now.
As much as I love "snobby" beer, lol, I do like Sam Adams original. It's just plain good.

I've looked for Maynard's wine but nobody don't got no 'round hear.

I had no idea nitro beer was a fad. I remember when Guinness draught in a can with the widget came out but didn't know the different gas was part of why I liked it. I am not a fan of carbonated drinks except for perhaps, Vernors ginger ale. Coffee, and water (not bottled, or iced) have been my two primary beverages since I was a teen. Every once in awhile I'll go on a homemade iced tea kick.

Now, the nitro beer with, or after dinner is something I look forward too. After a trip to Ireland last year, not really excited about most of their food, I really got to give it a try.
Get some Left Hand Wake Up Dead nitro and Hard Wired nitro. Both are excellent imo :)

Yup.....Obviously you go for Pliny any time it is an option! That point is not even open for debate!
My program manager recently started homebrewing and has been buying some recipes/kits or whatever. He has given me a couple of Pliny the Elder clones - Whiny the Youngster and The Plinian Legacy. Still not my taste unfortunately. On the other hand, he and his sons did multiple blind comparisons between Elder and Legacy and they couldn't taste any difference so they're pretty happy with it. They're fans of the west coast IPA style. I'm looking forward to him making an imperial stout :)

When the Bells beers became available in TX all the growler bars around me had Bells nights. I haven't gotten around to trying any of them yet though. I want to try their stouts and porters of course.

Good names your guy came up with, especially Whiny the Youngster, lol.

Just a heads up, if you want to pass the info to those guys.

http://www.austinhomebrew.com/

Austin Homebrew Supply has been my long-time favorite for BEER KITS and Ingredients! You MAY pay slightly more from AHS, but it is well worth it due to the high quality and most importantly the FRESHNESS of the ingredients! AHS moves a LOT of product, so the ingredients are pretty much guaranteed to be fresh, and I can tell you from personal experience that they are better quality than Northern Brewer.

Now, for EQUIPMENT and hardware, I prefer Northern Brewer because they tend to be a little cheaper than AHS all around.

But, being just up I35 in the DFW area, shipping from AHS is likely quicker too.

I have been a customer of AHS for almost 20 years. On a side note, if you see any beer in the stores from Adelbert's, that is the brewery owned by the same owner as AHS.

Thanks for the info. I'll share that with my PM. I know he buys a lot of stuff from https://www.txbrewing.com which is local to us here in Haltom City (suburb of FW).

I've seen a bunch of Adelbert's up here. I've only tried one or two of their beers however.

Yeah, I haven't had any Adelbert's yet that was amazing or anything. Nothing bad, just nothing worth raving about either.

Supporting local business is a good thing, for sure. I just wanted to provide my experience with AHS vs. NB.
