Truly spoken from an internet audio nerd. Nevermind the name calling, now you are telling me my own generator is not 100 years old and I need to prove it to you that it is? Somethiing wrong with you?

Besides, didnt I tell you to just move along and not post in the thread awhile back? Thinking of trolling again?
A 100 year old generator in use today is highly unlikely and would be very uneconomic, to say nothing of finding parts.

Old machinery is something I also know quite a bit about. I think it highly unlikely you have a generator dating from prior to the First World War

In those days generators were massive and inefficient.

At Rolag there is a generator from the old Papst brewery, circa 1900, and it's two stories high and steam.

There is also the diesel municipal generator from the town Of Rosseau MN, from the early twenties at that site. It takes the dedicated restorers at Rolag to keep it running for the yearly, Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion every Labor Day weekend.

My late father, restored a fifties Lister diesel admiralty generator and put it to use, and it is still in use for power outage. It is huge, and keeps the lights and TVs running and that's about it. I had it made auto start when he got too infirm to go out and start it.

I'm heading to England September 13, and then I will take pictures of it. It is a nice exhibit. However I suspect my father had more skill in the tip of one finger and in more knowledge in one synapse then you posses, judging from your posts.

So if you do have a 100 year old generator still running, that is of high interest and news worthy, and I want to see it.

Looks like this thread is starting to go off rails again. Pretty close to being of more utility to the world with my cheese recipes. Get back on point or get more cheese.

On a side note, questioning TLS on audio electronics is beyond idiotic.

I have a 3 year old generator that needed a head gasket last year, took me 3 weeks to get one and then 2 weeks to get it put back together (bought it direct so only 1 year warranty it was a left over custom ordered unit), they gave me the gaskets and parts for free but wouldn't cover labor. I changed the gasket it 4 hours but it sucked, good news is it is an updated gasket and they paid to have steam holes drilled in the head between the cylinders- So far so good, but its an LP 4 cylinder, liquid cooled, 27KW, that is super insulated {I think this caused the head gasket issue}, so I made a sheet metal duct and fan with a control that when the unit runs the fan comes on and moves more air through the chassis, it is a litttle louder but I don't want any more over heating issues... Plus now I have a 10KW back unit rite next to it, that I installed while waiting for the parts and machine work on the primary unit...

Anyway, I have to agree a 100 year old genny is unlikely, when i read it I thought he was just saying it as a round number trying to get across that it is an old relic, like I say "my mother in law is a 100 years old" when she is really only 60.... But if you really think anyone is going to believe you have a 100 year old working genny running your entire home, you are in the wrong place for that to fly... I would also like a pic...

I mean really.. c'mon think for a minute. We have the power conditioner (grounds), the amp/preamp (root), the branches (speaker cables) and the bloomed leaves (speakers).

It all has to go together for the sound to come out right.

Finally, one eloquent statement that has all you haters eating crow.

You can not even reply to that, its like tonight when I cooked hot dogs on the gill for the kids, we had the gas {porpane} which is like the trunk, then we had the stainless grill which is like the bark, and then the flame which is like the sticks that die and fall in the yard, and then you have the hot dog casing that is like that sticky stuff that drips off the tree onto your car what is it called??? OH YEAH..... SAP...

I can not believe this is at 67 pages..

I have no problem with the ExactPower unit. IIRC, it's a Bill Whitlock designed device (Jensen Transformers) whose purpose is to address problems which some electronics may be susceptible to. Even if it is a good price that doesn't mean it's a prudent purchase because your power may be more than adequate with your future gear which in itself may not even be affected by power issues. In fact, if you have electrical problems there may be more cost effective ways to address them. To read some random reviews purporting things like using the unit made everything louder ought to make you roll your eyes.

You state that one can't make statements categorically dismissing the observations of others without first having tried the unit ourselves. To that I say poppycock. Life is littered with hucksters and products that are long on hyperbole and woefully short on proof, but they do have testimonials. These people and products hide behind the law and cherry pick their facts. Somewhere in most of our lives, there should be a grandparent, parent, teacher, somebody who instilled in us how to smell out bullsh!t. Learn it. Remember it.

Seems to me Bryceo was banned for far less. I'm surprised this has been allowed to go on for as long as it has.

I feel like threads have been locked for less as well. Curious.

Maybe the mods are waiting to see if anyone that actually owns the speakers in this discussion (part of the discussion anyway) show up to sing their praise.

Man, you had me worried that he was banned again. I'm glad to see that didn't happen. I think he's a good guy.

Okay, so back on topic.

There is the best $1000 speakers shootout at Home Theatre Shack. They were suppose to announce the winner in November but I think its going to be released by next week lol.

All have confirmed they have narrowed down to 2 speakers and that all of the ones involved in the rview (I think about 6-7 ppl) agreed on these 2 speakers. They say that these two speakers have alot of qualities that are alike, and one of the reviewers jumped in and said he liked that it sounded "live"/lively. (This is like the only "hint" I picked up on)

I am guessing Tekton Lore is one of the finalists since it is known for its "live" sounding nature.

Should be interesting to see how the Lore's are perceived but I am sure if they are well reviewed the usual suspects will try hard to dismiss it all as fairy tales and not credible.
