Should be interesting to see how the Lore's are perceived but I am sure if they are well reviewed the usual suspects will try hard to dismiss it all as fairy tales and not credible.

Yep, sure will. It will prabably and most likely be the same dang crowd that has the most to say when they never ecven heard it.

BTW, How are the measurements coming along rocky? I got the Tekton 12' sub and the Lore-S measurements coming w/ help from fuzz in about a month time..

It seems a lot is involved and lots of reading. There is a lot of talk on B&W speakers and a few others on the Aussie thread and they are all saying the measurements are not accurate done by others in some reviews. Talk about bass humps, figures way above what is quoted by B&W. So I plan just to do them for my room if I can ever get it working right.
Some interesting info here

It's actually pretty easy to take a quasi-anchoeic measurement. However, if your stuff isn't calibrated correctly and all your sampling rates and stuff don't match then things will be off.

Okay, so back on topic.

There is the best $1000 speakers shootout at Home Theatre Shack. They were suppose to announce the winner in November but I think its going to be released by next week lol.
Thanks for posting that as I thought it was on this forum and you had to have 25 posts to enter. So got my 25 post but could not find it on here. Looked everywhere.
I have only one post on that forum. Must of seen it when reading up on REW.

Just borrowed a ClassD amp over the weekend. My last try of a ClassD amp was a long time ago. It was a Pioneer AVR and it was a bit lean and harsh on top. (pioneer sc-lx 71)
So far I am pretty impressed. Seems to have given the Enzo's a more deaper tighter bass. More impact.
I was just thinking, can an amp give a different result when measuring speakers? As I have read a lot people think they are all pretty similar these days.

Sound better than the Emotiva XPA 200?
Not sure as I have been pretty happy the XPA-200.
I was using a Naska (Aussie Amp) before the switch and a SVS sub.
Currently running no sub.

First, they make much greater use of the voltage coming from your wall as they transform your household current into the signal going to your speakers with much greater efficiency and much less heat than more conventional types of amplifiers

Hmm, maybe I should just forget about the power conditioner and go with the stereo amp paired with a Outlaw 975 pre-amp.

Choices choices choices... the fact is the only thing that is ordered and set is the enzo and the lore-s and the 12' tekton sub.

Its like $1,000 more than the XPA-200, is it worth it?

They are all nice amps and all sound great with the speakers.
I have a soft spot for the Emotiva amps for what you get for the price.

At $1000 more, for myself I would definitely say no.
I plan to try that amp with some Maggie 1.7 speakers that like some power behind them.

This should be simple to answer for yourself. Given that you're looking to see if they measure different in your room with the different amps all you need to do is set up the microphone at your listening position and do a simple measurement. Repeat with after swapping amps and compare.

All of the nitpicky parts of measurements are to make sure you do everything right to compare different speakers in different places. If you just want to know if what you hear/measure is different then things are far less critical. Just make sure to make no changes to your measurement rig during the process.

I just took some measurements and they look pretty similar to me. Lots of squiggly lines.
Taken from the seating position (3.3m) away.

Worked out I have to use ASIO in the settings, High latency. Sometimes close and restart REW to get it working again.

Try applying 1/24 or 1/12 octave smoothing to the frequency response measurements. The resolution so high that we see too many lines to make out what is going on. :p
