SVS SB 2000 Pro vs SB 1000 PRO vs PB

Hello all I've upgrading my home theater gear to the SVS Prime Ultra Bookshelves and Center for LCR and went with the SVS SB Pro 1000 since my room is relatively small - 11x10. I'm pleasantly surprised by how everything sounds given the limited placement options, but I'm wondering if I might be better off going with the 2000 Pro to avoid overdriving the SB Pro 1000?

Listening use is probably 30% music / 70% games and movies. I'm also wondering if it would be wise to switch to a SVS' ported sub? My primary concern with a ported sub in that location could sound boomy in such a small room. I've included some photos to give an idea of the layout. Image 2 is from the door entering the room and Image 1 is where the sub is when sitting in the office chair. The office chair is the MLP.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the PB2000 Pro and it's pretty potent. I had a PB1000 that I'm using with it even though it's not ideal to mix different size subs. It's working pretty good I think. The PB 2000 Pro like I said it's pretty potent.
I'm sure a lot of guys will recommend HSU which are great I hear. The SVS app is super convenient though don't forget.

In a room that small, sitting as close as you do, there is no need for a SB2000.
Going with a ported sub is a different story. It might be indicated, if you felt the really low end of explosions and such in action films/games was lacking.

By "them" at the end of your paragraph I assume you mean the Ultra bookshelves.
You will not overdrive the Ultra's due to any of the subs you cite. A 80 Hz or higher crossover selection should protect them just fine.
- If you play exceedingly loud for extended periods (and like going deaf) then you are much more likely to fry a tweeter, which the sub has nothing to do with.

No I meant overdrive the SB Pro 1000. I’ll fix that in my original message. I don’t play the Ultras at deafening levels and have the SB Pro 1000 crossover set at 80.

Boominess is due to room acoustics or sub placement. Sealed or ported does not make a difference in that regard. Ported will give a little more bass extension, typically 3 Hz in that price range (17Hz vs 20Hz). I think your landlord will evict you before you overdrive the sub in a room that size. You can check with some listening tests. There is a thread with music samples titled subwoofer candy.

As per the svs site, all their subs have dsp based limiters so you'll be fine . I've pushed my PB2000 very hard and never had an issue!
