I was considering placing it in between dead center of the main left and right speakers. Would this cause any problems. Reason is I am going to redesign my entertainment room.

But dealing with bass in small rooms (small relative to wavelength) is a very complex subject where everything that makes up your listening space, not just the equipment, becomes a variable.
