Subwoofer placment?

I currently have my sub-woofer located in the corner by the front left wall. I was considering placing it in between dead center of the main left and right speakers. Would this cause any problems. Reason is I am going to redesign my entertainment room.

Tip of the iceberg, Bob!

If it sounds good, go with it. But dealing with bass in small rooms (small relative to wavelength) is a very complex subject where everything that makes up your listening space, not just the equipment, becomes a variable.
