Same thing happens to me. It is not a setup problem. I think it's the compression that broadcasters use. They cut low frequencies to save bandwidth. Out of the same HD digital box, when I switch to Galaxie, a channel that only outputs music (no picture), I get good bass. I've stopped adjusting levels cuz I got tired to. What's amazing in watching family man or american chopper with big bass anyways?

so after endless hours of messing around w the sub settings and trying to blend in the sub with my towers i found a setting that has been working beutiful. when i watch tv and listen to music i found that my sub is perfect set to about 10 o clock, ( a setting of 4 on on a scale of 0-12). when i am watching dvd's however i am afraid this setting might be slightly to high when the LFE kicks in. the lfe signal in the receiver goes from -20 down to 0db. I have it set at 0db. do you think i should leave all the settings as is and tweak down the lfe level if it is to high during trembling lows???

finally bought a rat shack spl. I set the sub to 12 oclock and after calibrating all to 75 db the sub level in the receiver had to bet set to +5db in order to get to 76db. sounds much better. It will have to do until i order my svs pb 12 plus 2
