If I had to put money on it, I'd guess China is telling the truth. I don't think China has as much incentive to lie as Trump.

China has no need to lie they hold all the cards. They are the #1 exporter for the entire world. This was such a stupid idea. I haven't taken it seriously because he is going to have to reverse course. Even his own cabinet is saying this is not sustainable. So this was all just a really giant waste of all of our time

Yes we need to stop being too dependent on China for some things but there are better alternatives to go about it.
