Update: New subwoofer location

After cleaning up and rearranging, I managed to make room for my DPS-12 behind my couch. Can you say, tactile?

Couch Riser/ Bass trap complele (well, not the bass trap part)

Hello folks,

I know this thread would be veering off coarse by talking about my HT(!), but I have finished, and installed my Couch Riser (will be a bass trap when I can afford to stuff it).

It's actually really simple for those wanting to do this. I chose a 7 foot wide, by 4 foot deep and 8.5inches high riser. It constis of 4 8 foot 2 by 8s, and a half inch plywood board.

Fairly simple to construct, just cut to desired length, screw together, and screw on board. My riser is portable and not mounted to any floor. It is also open on the bottm (because I havent stuffed it) but once I install the insulation, I will look at some metal fencing to hold it in place.

Anywho, here is some pictures.

Thanks for the kind comments on my HT, Sheep; let me know how those dual 15A dedicated circuits work out for you. I gotta tell you, it wasn't cheap to get mine done, but then again I had to run all of that conduit a long way to get to my stack. I can only guess, but by looking at your pix, your circuit box must be somewhat closer (?). Anyhoo, nice job on the risers; any plans on adding a second row?

There is a second row. The couch is the second row, the chairs are the front.

I won't be doing the electrical until we reno the room(IE: a while) but the sub panel is just behind my back wall in the other room.

WOW Is there anything more UNCOOL than slamming a guy's rig? Obviously there is history between you guys in order for a slam like that but nobody should be slamming anybody's rig,people put way too much time & effort not to mention bank vaults of cash into their rigs to have others run their system down.

Everybody should try & remember that this is just a hobby & that no matter how great we think our rigs are there is allways another member who has a better system than ours.
