I never considered an at home coffee maker that kept water hot in a reservoir. You must drink a lot of coffee. We have one of those single cup maker devices at work with a heated tank that automatically refills itself. Its a brand called Flavia, not Keurig.

Extraction time matters with brewing coffee. When I used that Melitta drip pot every day, I learned the coffee tasted better if I first poured a small amount of hot water on the grounds and let them soak for a minute or two. That avoided the grounds clumping together and staying dry when I poured the rest of the water.

Maybe that's the purpose of the jets of water in your Bunn (Adam this one's for you ). It breaks up the clumps. It obviously works in 3 minutes.

I don't drink as much as I used to, but the Bunn is a few years old now and back when I bought it I drank quite a bit. I think part of the thing with the jets is that they fill the filter with water much faster than the filter can drain. I don't know that for sure, but it seems to make sense since there is still water draining out even after I hear the water flow shut off.

Who knows. All I know is that Bunn = good

Even at $110.00 it's way more than I would normally pay, but it's for my wife's birthday. And that Amazon store card in my pocket makes it too easy to buy more expensive things. Yeah, it's the cards fault that I have no self control.

the coffee machine is hard piped into the water supply so you just put a pod in and push the button, no pouring water or making an entire pot of coffee. It is very easy, tea is the same way and it has programs that steep the tea and pulse the brewing pattern different for what you are brewing, it makes a really good cup of coffee. When that thing breaks I am putting a trifecta in the kitchen, she goes to a friend of mines cafe and that is what he uses, she says its the best coffee she has ever tasted... I think its all the same, cap on the other hand I can tell the difference...

I sold my PJ and ordered a new watch, garmin fenix 3 sapphire, and heart rate monitor from Amazon. However, I've forgotten that I no longer live in NY so I canceled that and ordered from BHPhoto instead. Saved me $36 in sales tax.

It is not without sadness that I watched the F8500 get boxed up about two hours ago. What a beautiful picture and TV. The Sony that replaced it just isn't in the same league. It's not bad, mind you, and I likely would have been quite happy with it had I never ordered the Sammy first. The picture is good (so far, haven't really watched much), but the hardware is lighter and cheaper. One of the delivery guys handed me this thin metal bracket and said, "here's the stand." I couldn't help thinking, quite seriously, that he must have only handed me part of it. Nope. The Samsung stand is a thing of beauty on its own - this Sony stand is like something you'd hang a shirt on. Granted, the Sony is a lot lighter - but they could have spent another five dollars and made the stand more robust.

However...and I'm hoping that I won't notice something new when I finally sit down and relax tonight...the Sony is dead silent. Seeing as how that's why I returned the Sammy, that's a big plus in the Sony corner. That, and I'm pretty sure that I can lift this thing on my own.

Had my first real wreck today thanks to the snow storm. Tried taking a little too sharp of a turn. We are okay and the car appears not to have frame damage. I was able to avoid everything but the bumper cover and grill on the other guys car Thankfully my wife and I were both fine. Unfortunately in the process of going to the curb I took out the right front ball joint.

So far the weather hasn't stopped me from going to work and I admit that some of those rides were pretty hairy. It's been a tough winter up here. Stay safe down there. Did your wife yell at you after you totaled the car? j/k, what was ... hehe ... is the car?

I use the base from my 7000 as a protective place mat sort of thing on a dresser ... until Rick finds just the right doilies.
