I know this topic has been covered before but just want to double check. I need to do a temporary long run of OFC speaker cable, but need it to be the copper or transparent/copper color to blend with red carpet. Are these my best bets for affordable sources.I would not like to get in to debate about the sound of wire or CCA v OFC....

The default recommendation seems to be he seemingly ubiquitous Monoprice #2747.

Or maybe one of the following which may be similar and or rebranded versions of the same or similar OEM cable

SVS Soundpath One: https://www.svsound.com/products/soundpath-one-speaker-cable

Parts Express Audtek Electronics SKRL-14-100 14 AWG OFC: https://www.parts-express.com/audtek-electronics-skrl-14-100-14-awg-ofc-speaker-wire-100-ft--100-021

Aperion Branded 12 gauge 100 feet for $59.00- looks like rebranded Monoprice: https://www.aperionaudio.com/collections/speaker-wire-cables/products/high-performance-12gauge-speaker-wire-100-ft

Orange County Speaker repair/GLS AUdio: https://www.glsaudio.com/GLS-Audio-Premium-12-Gauge-50-Feet-Speaker-Wire--True-12AWG-Speaker-Cable-50ft-Clear-Jacket_p_1766.html(Assuming this is OFC)

Crutchfield 14 gauge: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_007CC14L/Crutchfield-Speaker-Wire-50-ft-roll.html

Axiom audio bulk at 99c per foot : https://www.axiomaudio.com/bulk-speaker-cable

thanks

Seriously, I have no life.
Yes, any one of those will do if it meets your need for color blending.
I am a bit unclear as to one lead is tin coated or not as some looks like one wire is silver color.

You're overthinking it. Just buy the one with the cost factor/look you want....

I know for the Audtek, they say one lead is tin coated and the other is not.

As mtrycrafts and lovinthehd said, all of those are fine options. Pick based on looks that work for you and price.

Oh, for what it's worth, some Amazon reviews say the GLS Audio cables are CCA, not pure copper.

Yet they seem to brag their cca is better than others.....500ft only weighing 25 lbs does seem wrong to me without checking fwiw.

GLS Audio speaker wire is manufactured with the highest grade materials in the industry. The copper wire is rated in AWG spec which stands for "American Wire Gauge". The AWG rating was developed by the USA as a result of some wire manufacturers stating their wire was a certain spec when it really wasn't. You'll notice most imported wire and cable manufacturers will rate their wire in "G" or Gauge (not AWG). The "G" rating can be used for any wire size. For example: A 12G rated cable may only be equivalent to a 18AWG cable (or worse). There are no regulations or specifications on "G" rated cables. How can you determine if a "G" rated cable is the same spec as an AWG cable? Unfortunately, you can't unless you test the power loss per foot. Sometimes the weight may be an indicator. For example: GLS Audio 500ft 12AWG spool weighs about 25 lbs whereas most of our competitors only weigh about 15lbs. This may be a direct result of the copper wire gauge not being true AWG

Yeah, it's interesting how they kinda 'talk around' the question of whether or not it's all copper. The roll of speaker wire doesn't say on its label. Their website doesn't say, as far as I can tell. Some of the Amazon reviewers and question answerers say it's copper, but others say it's CCA. I would think if it were all copper that they'd state so explicitly.

At 25 lbs it just seems light for 500ft. I don't have a particularly good source for weight vs gauge/length, tho

IMO, if it weighs only 25 lbs, I would be inclined to think it's a CCA wire.

Nowhere on the spool copper is mentioned. It's definitely a CCA wire. I would buy something else.

Aluminum has only 68% of the conductivity of copper. We can get OFC copper wire at a very affordable cost, why bother with a questionable product? o_O

Although Amazon sells it, you can also order direct from Monoprice. But watch out as they also sell some CCA wire. Fortunately, Monoprice clearly specify with each product which material it consists of.

Oh, and if you want banana plugs, some of the monoprice ones tested out as the most conductive. I’ll try to find the link...
