put a piece of cloth in between the sub and your "nic nacs" ... it will help stop them from moving around and scratching the surface.

I found that nic nacs would not stay put on top of mine once the sub was "at volume".

You got that baby dialed in yet? Remember to write down all your settings so when I get mine you'll have done all my homework for me :D

I ended up moving the stuff on the sub for now. So, no worries. Thanks. :)

Sorry. Not yet. I'm still playing around with it. Right now I have all 5 speakers crossed over at 60hz and for movies have the gain about half way up when playing at fairly high playback levels. (I actually haven't tried pushing it past half way yet. That was about as much as I needed :D). Room comp I have set to large. I'm still experimenting with the phase to see if it makes a difference. I have everything else turned to the off position. I'll probably be playing around with it for a while until I feel that it's about as good as its going to get. I must say that it sounds pretty darn good right now! :D As far as placement goes, I am pretty limited on this, due to the size of the sub :(. Based on what I've tested so far, the ideal location would be in the front corner of the room. However, this is also an adjoining corner for entry into two other rooms in the house, so it just isn't practical. This is where compromises must be made. I actually feel like I'm getting pretty good results with it being placed where it is in the pics I posted. Ironically, that's the first place I put it. I'm still playing around with it though.
I watched a movie with the wife last night. It wasn't necessarily the most bass-intensive movie, but when a bass intensive passage did occur, you definitely knew it. You could feel that sub working! The great thing is that the bass experience seemed natural, not over exaggerated, but when the bass hit (the way it was intended too), you felt it! At the same time, it didn't draw attention to itself during less intensive scenes. I guess I'll keep tweak'in until I'm happy! But so far, results seem really good!

Well stated. That's a very good way to describe it. The Ultra handles LFE very well and presents it in the proper way. Not stuggling, not over emphasizing. But if you want it loud it can deliver!

Well, finally got around to playing with this thing. Here's a few pics since some of you had asked. Let me go ahead and apologize for the house being such a mess. Oh, and the pics aren't great. It sure is hard to get a good one due to that piano black finish. It sure is pretty though! :D

I still have that little tag on the back of mine too...Just couldn't bring myself to part with it.

Ran mine in 20 Hz tune for the first month or so, then tried 15 Hz. I like 15Hz for movies, and 20 Hz for music.
I'll probably try that tune too once I've played around with it for a bit. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

I love the tweaks available on the Ultras. I used a test tone CD and measured the SPL across the frequency range. The 15Hz tune, along with the room correction settings and the parametric equalizer helped me flatten things out quite a bit.
