Need Help Between Starke SW15 or SVS SB3000

Good afternoon guys, hope all is well.

I am really confused & would like some feedback on which subwoofer I should purchase. I am between the Starke SW15 & the SVS SB300, I will be buying 2 subs. The SW15 is a 15 inch woofer has 450 watts rms & 900 peak while the SB3000 is a 13 inch woofer with 800 watts rms & 2000 peak.

My current subs are as follows

- 2 SVS PB1000 non pro version. These are the ones that I am lookiing to upgrade
- 2 Starke Sound Sub35 in the rear
- 1 Goldenear Supersub X as nearfield sub

Taking what I have into consideration which way should I go with the SW15 x 2 or the SB3000 x 2?

Haven't had a Starke sub, but I would pick the HSU Research ULS-15mk2 over the SB-3000.

What is your goal with the update? If size isn't an issue I'd generally go to larger ported rather than sealed. The wattage among powered subs is just partial information, not particularly meaningful on its own.

I know little about Starke except for the issue with their amp that didn't test to spec here and its subsequent discontinuance. I just looked at the review of the SW15 here and noted the price ($899) at time of review compared to the current sw15 price ($599) on Starke's site (plus only $70 shipping to my address in OR), which is pretty significant and wonder what happened in between.

the HSU is too big in width. I can only go about 16.9 inches in wifth ad I am tight on space

Getting lower extension can be very hard, plus not a lot of content to aim for; 19 is pretty good (assuming that's the stated f3). A larger diameter cone can push more air but that's not everything either. I'd have to look at dimensions, have you narrowed down options on this basis other than the Starke and SVS? It seems you're also putting the subs in the same positions as current ones? If room modes are an issue that may not change much if placement is same/similar.

the width is what has me with limited selectiin if woofers. The widest I can go is 18inch in width

Room dimensions would be more along the lines of this article rather than the specific spots you've pre-determined for your subs in that room.

How about a PC2000 or PC4000? 16.5” wide if memory serves.

Ok. Didn’t realize that. If that’s the case, you will be missing out on the point of dual subs. Not to say the extra output won’t be helpful. But being that it’s a small room, I would use the PC2k or 4k since it’s ported and take advantage of the efficiency, as I doubt you’d use it beyond its capabilities, and would have more output below 35ish hz than the SB3K anyways.
