The philharmonics look like they sound fantastic, but I don't have enough space or charisma to sell my wife in those bad boys. I do like the idea of buying better products slowly instead of buying everything all at once and spreading my budget thin. However, that being said, I would like to propose a hypocritical idea.
I listened to the paradigm monitor series, and some discontinued studios they had again today. I've come to like the "paradigm sound". I will more than likely go in that direction. Which helps narrow my speaker selection quite a bit. Sooooo, should I spend all my budget in the prestige series, and get new subs in a few years? Or should I stick with the monitor series, and get 2 svs sb-1000s to upgrade my subs at the same time? Just some ideas, and I'm not sure either one is particularly good.
One things for certain, I have come to except that I might as well wait a month or two and stretch my budget to $4k. I want to draw the line around $4k though because I'm not at the time in my life where I need to be buying speakers that cost more than that. I have a young daughter, and will be having another child soon. So I have to be willing to accept that whatever speakers I buy could potentially get damaged/ruined, and that it will happen when I'm not around. So it's tricky, because I want the best speakers I can possibly afford. While at the same time, I don't want to be butt hurt if/when my daughter does something to them when I'm not looking. Either way I will cherish them the best I can while they last, and when my kids grow up a little I can maybe get something even better then.
So any new input based on my revised budget, or my silly ramblings would be awesome. Again, thank you to everyone for helping me think through my options. I really appreciate it.
