Trying to explain that to single guys and they don't get it. I tell them wait until you're married, you'll understand! When the wife is happy, life is good, when she isn't.... well married guys know what happens next! :D

Right now she is laughing at how I spelled "Angel" as Angle, ahhh well spelling was never my strong point...

Thanks, I have 3 Klipsch Pro-Media 2.1 system's on my computer.

Is there any way of bringing the subs in closer to the left and right side of the TV stand so you can pull the left and rights out wider to open up the sound stage.

Been there tried that, the room is just too small and the subs stick out too far for that arrangement to work out well. I have several nieces and nephews that come over often and it's hard enough to keep them off of things, with two subs sticking out they would have a field day. Pulling out the TV stand isn't an option, the wife would go nuts.

I downloaded REW now I just need to figure out how to use it. So far this is the best way I have found for all aspects to sound right. If I had a 20x18 living room I could adjust things much more, this room is just too small and also filled with too many things. :o

here is a inexpensive way to hid those wires for your rear speakers,available at LOWES & HOME DEPOT,I used it for all my wiring,works and looks great ! http://www.wiremold.com/www/consumer/products/cordmate_2.asp

Thanks! I am completely ruined for Movie Theaters now, they just don't sound as good and the picture quality sucks in most. Some day I hope to have a dedicated room but in this house that would be impossible... I think?

Need to talk to the wife... have an idea! :D

I almost bought the SR6003, I was tempted but it was back in late November so the price was about $300.00 higher than my SR5003, now they are closer to $199.00 apart which for me would make it a no brainer!

The Marantz SR5003 is a very impressive AVR for the money. It may not have all the bells and whistles, but as far as sound quality and performance goes, there's not much in it's price range that has a more natural sound. But, if you really want to get the most out of your Klipsch's, adding a multi-channel amp maybe just the ticket. I know that Klipsch Reference speakers are arguably the most efficient speakers on the market and pretty much any AVR can push them with easy. But that doesn't mean that more power won't be a noticable benefit. The SR9300 is a beast of an AVR with a 140w x 7 rating. 165W in 2 channel, and dual differential capability. But, when I added the MM9000, it was as if I purchase a new system! My RF35's opened up. Vocals are more definitive and the sound stage seems to be deeper. The imaging was always good. Not to mention the improved surround sound experience.
Moral of the story, check out Emotiva.com The XPA-3 or the XPA-5 multi-channel amps are very aggressively priced and are an excellent value. the improvement will be blatantly obvious!

Agreed 100%, actually I'm waiting till end of year when they release some new gear but have given some thought to picking up the MM8003 if I can find one at a good price sooner.The RF-82's and RC-64 sound incredible with the SR5003, I can only imagine what it would sound like with the MM8003.

I have an SR-18 for my bedroom system and have given some thought to seeing how it does with the Klipsch system, however the SR5003 handles my AV needs much better than the SR-18 can so it would only be used to see the speakers flex their muscles.

Slowly but surely the system is taking shape!
 
Well, I decided to scale down the size of the speakers in my bedroom system so I ordered from AV123's spring sale a pair of X-LS main's and a X-CS center channel so the system will be as follows.

AV123 X-LS mains
AV123 X-CS Center
Klipsch KSW-300 subwoofer
Klipsch KT-DS THX surrounds

I can't wait to see how this little system with a large subwoofer will perform. I'm going to have to scale that thing back big time!

Yeah the 6003 is great. I got it from 6ave.com in early january for $749. But honestly the 5003 is just about everything the 6003 is, so i wouldnt have any regrets. :cool:


P.S.- awesome subs ya got there, my buddy also has dual MFW-15's and they are incredible! You got an excellent finish on yours, kudos. :)

Great setup, the 82's are great stuff especially with the 64 :cool:

Upgraded Bedroom HT, or was it down graded??

Ok, generally speaking I love Klipsch products, hence my screen name. However my bedroom HT just didn't dound right, my trusty set of Klipsch KSF 10.5's just seem out of sorts in there, can't get it to sound right with my subwoofer (KSW-300).

So, since I just bought a pair of AV123 MFW-15's for my main home theater I decided to pull my KSF 10.5's and KSF C5 out of the room and replace them with a pair of AV123 X-LS bookshelfs and a matching X-CS center channel, leaving the rear channels as Klipsch KT-DS THX's. The price was so cheap buying B stock I couldn't turn it down. Plus the woodgrain of these speakers is incredible, how they can sell them so cheap is beyond me.

Now, anybody used to Klipsch knows it takes nothing to power them, my Marantz SR-18 was huge power for these speakers. With the X-LS's you notice how much more it takes to drive them from the get go. Once I dialed the system in I checked out some DTS music and movies and found the speakers to sound pretty darn good most of the time. Not sure I like them more than the Klipsch's in this room though as they too can't seem to get into proper phase with my Klipsch KSW-300 sub, which tells me there is something going on with the sub or maybe it's just my ears or the room is too hard to get right. It's tiny at 10x9 so maybe it's just too small for this sized sub?

No matter which way I try the phase switch it just sounds a tad out of phase. I'm going to work on the calibration in the Marantz but there isn't much to play with in there. I may just put this sucker on eBay and order the AV123 X-Plosive when it comes out.

The X-LS and X-Cs combo has a natural sound to it sans subwoofer, mellow even. I could easily imagine these speakers in a main HT system. I may order another set to replace the KT-DS surrounds, might as well match all the way around right?

Just ordered another pair of AV123 X-CS Masceray Satin center channels that will replace the X-LS's are the mains and the X-LS's will move to the rear channels. They are "C" stock and from what I'm told in not the best shap veneer wise but from the front should look fine.

I can't wait! These speakers have a very nice warm sound to them, perfect for a bedroom HT. I believe the center in the posted picture is Masceray as well, not Pali Rosa, but they are close enough for a bedroom HT.
 
I forgot to post this part, I'm thinking about getting an Emotiva Audio UPA-7 to use as the amplifier to my Marantz SR5003.
