Sadly the only place that carried MA locally went out of business not long ago. I'm curious about the new RS series, too, but I haven't heard them.

I wonder if eventually there'll be an RS10?

MA Speakers

Sorry to hear that, right now I have the Definitive Tech BP 6 Speakers which is a bi-polar speaker. One mid bass and tweeter with of course crossovers doing all the work. The new RS series is suppose to be a big improvement over the the S Series. They certianly look nicer and what I was most impressed about was how each instrument stood out on its own and really reached out into the room. The BP 6's I have are a very nice clear and precise speaker. However they do not seem to suspend the music into the air the way the MA's do. I got the store to offer me a 15% discount off the regular retail price.

Speakers can be so hard to decide upon and you really want to come home and feel like you made the right choice. What do you think the overall concensus is about these speakers based on your findings? Home Theater Mag just did a review on the R6 and raved about them.

The larger AV chains seem to be dropping like flys. I don't get it considering the heavy trend to HT. The Goodguys had the MA franchise here in the west. Now that they are gone, Magnolia HiFi is taking on the MA line.

I have MA's (Gold and Silver) and have listened to the S vs RS and found very little if any difference except cosmetic. MA will be comming out with a new Gold Series soon, so there will be good closeout prices on the current Golds like with the Silvers. Oh and I have spoken to MA and there will be no RS10. The current RS line is it.
