Just received notice with the total loss #'s. $8500.

I purchased the car in 2019 for $10,000. Drove it 80,000 miles, put a starter in it. Since it was body on frame with a V8 and class 3 hitch it had a tow rating of 7500lbs. Which I used to not pay a moving company between $12-$14,000. Just uhaul trailers on weekends with my teenagers help while she finished up the school year.

Add into that mileage reimbursement from my employer over the years (about $3000).

So I can't complain other than the car had another 100,000 in it I believe.

From my prior experience with Infiniti, I'd recommend you avoid them like the plague.
Already have a Lexus coming. I had a 2004 G35 that I had for 9 years and it was relatively problem free. Just some cam shaft sensors and a starter.

Yeah, they've gone way downhill since 2015 or so.

Good luck with the Lexus. It's hard to go wrong with a Toyota product.

PPI just finished. Stored logs on the ECU just indicate when the battery was replaced. Undercarriage is clean/dry HVAC works, electronics are good, lights all good. Tires at 80%. Brakes and rotors are new all the way around.

Passenger rear shock / strut has a slight weep.

Pick it up next Thursday.

Hope you got it and are enjoying it. Rear shock is pretty cheap fix and doesn’t require an alignment, I recommend doing both simply due to age. It’ll cost a couple bucks more but I recommend getting it done at Lexus simply for the experience. Top notch service and they’ll give you a brand new Lexus as a loaner for the day, it doesn’t matter how old your Lexus is, you get a Lexus loaner if yours is in for service.

No kidding? That's hilarious. What is the cost difference going to be however for a dealer vs my local mechanic? My luck they would just tell me it's an in and out and no loaner needed.

Yep replace stuff like that in pairs.

Things I'm looking to do: window tint, subwoofer upgrade, and update to current nav system.

There are kits that will add Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to the factory system although I don’t have personal experience with them. I was looking into it for my 2015 ES350 before it was totaled. From my research, trying to change the factory deck (screen) is a massive job so the recommended route is adding a plug and play accessory that uses the factory system.

Looking forward to updates… you’re really making me want another Lexus Sedan… hmmmmm

I'm going to toss a dice on a 12-in display from ZW nav. They say it supports the Mark Levinson system that has built-in DSP wireless carplay and Android auto.
