Logitech dropping support for the older Harmony remotes

Me neither, I use the harmony hub and the simple remote that comes with it for all my setups. It will be a major bummer if they stop supporting those as they are great. Very durable and work great and put up with me adding new devices. Really wish they would reconsider and make them again. Guess that won't be the case. The fact that there isn't a strong competitor might be an indication that there just aren't enough people with complicated setups with receiver, and multiple devices. We are rare birds now I guess.
I use Harmony remotes in four systems. What's the simple remote model you have? One of my setups is an older Elite/Hub setup, the others are the 650 and 665s.

It's the Logitech Smart Harmony Remote control . I have a few backups and would be tempted to keep snagging more when people are selling them pretty cheap. But I wonder if I'd get caught with a bunch of them and no support.

Anyways, I like this more than the ones with the LCD screens because those are much more breakable and I like the buttons

Forget what that was called particularly. Not sure if it's as durable button-wise as my Elite but my various 650s did develop button issues due style used....I've attempted repair on a few with limited success with this stuff on the buttons more subject to degradation over time https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003D8G8SY?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

This is the model I have. I never use the phone app. I've got three in boxes in case my current ones die.

What I did find out is that if I need to change the config, logitech has moved to a different login so that may cause issues. Yay me.

If you don't have some of these and can get some cheap, I hightly recommend them

With the risk of them cancelling support at some point, I wonder if it makes sense for you to get the 3 out and program them all to your current setup and then put them back in the boxes? I have not done this myself and frankly might be too lazy to do it. But probably a good idea :)

Hopefully they will give warning if they are going to stop supporting the hub units

All Harmony support and programing has closed. There web site regarding programing has been withdrawn and no longer exists.
While your remote is still working with the existing programming, Changing or reprograming, is now a thing of the past.

Not when using the Logitech MyHarmony app for supported remotes, like my Elite. I just checked that. The mobile app is supposed to work as well.

Well, that's a drag. While my Harmony 880 still works fine, I assume I'll have to get something else if I replace a component in my HT.

My older Harmony 900 remote, that I no longer use, is configured using the older Logitech Harmony Remote Software v7.7.0. When I start that program I get the following note and the program is unresponsive.

It's a disappointing move by Logitech and broke their promise when shutting down their universal remote business.
