The “speakers make the difference” and “don’t overspend on devices or cables” mantras of many who frequent this forum seem to be more and more at odds with many of the product reviews here. They seem to imply that those who might consider themselves audiophiles are not truly “discerning audiophiles” unless they purchase outrageously priced gear from which this outfit gets a cut if purchased from associates. It is ridiculous that HEOS should have any issues with a piece of gear at that price and folks should have to resort to using another device and app to use the Connect feature of Tidal and others because HEOS requires multiple firmware updates to achieve acceptable performance. Curious if Spotify lossless has gone live in that neck of woods yet and works with the Link 10n using Spotify Connect. Some may also be curious about performance connecting a flash drive to the USB-A port of the Link 10n or connecting a Windows PC or Mac to the USB-B port of the Link 10n and using streaming service apps or music files installed in them rather than using HEOS in the Link 10n. The 100 watts from the Yamaha HiFi piece is NOT the same 100 watts you get in an AVR so let's be clear on that. Agreed, that' why it is a shame for manufacturers to continue to use the term "watts" instead of voltage and current.
