Skiing Ninja finally made the Classic -> Encore kits available for purchase yesterday, so I have a set ordered to upgrade 1 pair of my X-SLS towers. Then going to compare with the ELT525 towers.

The third Amp300 came today. One of my Amp One/A units sold on eBay last week :).

2ch room now has a display, VP322. Not for movies, just the occasional tv show and I might put my PS2 in there since it has quite awful quality on my projector.

The Strata Minis have a new owner as of today, so the 2ch room looks a bit less crowded with just the ELT towers now.

Next to go is the SP3 tube amp, looking at solid-state options for that room now that I am using the TV pretty frequently and don't want to bother with the amp warm-up cycle any more.

Yeah, absolutely worth it.

Although the Audyssey multeq xt on the 805 was killing so much of the top-end detail that I've got it switched off now. Pre-upgrade the X-SLS system sounded a bit better with Audyssey engaged, now with the encore tweeters/crossovers installed I'm finding the eq does more harm than good.

I was wondering if the "full Ninja" upgrade would be worth it to those little x-ls bookshelves you brought over. They were pretty good to begin with.

Yeah there's not a lot of consensus out there about whether the higher quality caps and inductors are worth the cost. Ninja Elite and Ninja Master have the same tweeter and crossover design after all. Springing for the full ninja master upgrade basically removes any "what if?" which might be worth the peace of mind for some.

I am finding there are too many choices out there for a 2ch integrated amp, been hard to narrow it down. I was even thinking about getting a refurb Denon 2808 or 988 and see how I like the Audyssey correction on that unit since Denon has a "flat" option unlike Onkyo who uses the normal treble-reducing curve.

On the contrary, I had a pretty heavy duty system including an Energy 12 inch sub in my old apartment. That apartment had such thick concrete walls, floors and ceilings. I pounded that system week after week with movies and music all the time. No one ever even said a word to me.

It all depends how your place is built. My old place was an old highrise built in the 60's or 70's... I'm not so sure the highrises nowadays would be built as strong.

Absolutely gorgeous setup, I'm hoping to make my setup all black (at the moment the only part of my setup that is black is my new sub), very clean and neat looking system, your cat looks happy there too chilling on a sub! :D
