Hi Jeremy,

Just wanted to say hey, and beautiful set up!!

I've been thinking about those MFW feet, and then I noticed your subs are all on their side... Does that orientation have any effect on sound quality or anything of that nature?

I wouldn't think it would have an effect, I'm just curious. I'm considering placing my front MFW on it's side so it can double as a center channel stand so I don't have to make one and upholster it with black fabric.

If I place my front sub on it's side but the rear sub on it's bottom as normal would that not be a good idea?

Thanks for your time.

Looks excellent. I wish I had the dedication (and $$$) to do the room acoustics like yours.

Great looking set-up, very well designed. Professional!!!!!

Are those the ATS Acoustic Panels? If so did you keep the hard backs on them?

Yes the ones on the walls are ATS. I left the back on them because my cats climb them. The panels need the structural integrity

For those who space the panels away from the wall or have them in a corner, it's definitely better to get them without hard backing material.

Good deal, just checking. You had posted a while back in one of my threads, was just curious to see if you stuck with the hard backing. Do you think there would be a significant improvement if you were to cut he back out and space from the wall?

Great use of space and I really like the matching speakers, all the way around. It is nice to see someone who really put some thought into their system.

Keep us posted on any changes or upgrades!!!

My silver H15 had a problem so it has been replaced by APC with a black one. Also I stuck my HTPC in the rack and the laserdisc player has been temporarily displaced until I rearrange some things. Not really high priority considering how infrequently I use LD

I also spaced out the rear left/right speakers some more and changed a couple things in the back of the room, now entryway to the front of the room is between the RS and the rack with the projector.

Just waiting on the Encore upgrade now. Although Audyssey made some marked improvements in the sound of the classics.

Jeremy, I've posted your first pic already on a couple of occasions, here and at AVS, to explain how getting the ideal soundstage is more attainable than people think. Hope you don't mind, and please consider it a compliment.

That really is quite the setup, especially for an apartment. It really shows a level of dedication that is quite rare...or simply the absence of a significant other putting her foot down on the whole arrangement.:D

Updates

Look what showed up yesterday :)

I'm betting against the odds on these, Amazon reviews are not too kind. Most of the problems seem to be with 2007 manufactured units though.

One of my friends wanted to buy my Onkyo 705 so I stepped up to an 805 refurb for $100 net cost. It is a much nicer unit overall, although I can't say the 705 was too shabby either.

I won an av123 "auction" on a pair of ELT525 towers so those will be here Monday to play with. Not sure what to expect with them going against the X-SLS and Minis. I think the X-SLS encore would be a better comparison partner, but the upgrade kit is not available yet...

Nice little pick up there. I was wondering why you went from selling 1 of your amp1's to four. So I take it these will not be bridged?

They probably will be left bridged. If the Amp One/As sell I would pick up a third Amp300 for the center. Well, even if they don't sell I would likely still do that ;)
