Well I sold the AV-505 and about one year later (now) I got this sucker. 125 watts per channel 20hz-20khz 8 ohms, all channels driven. I haven't really had a chance to push it yet, as I only got the thing hooked up at about 9:00 PM this night. Oh, I forgot my legend. I always have to make it known how great the bargains that I get are. I know that if some members here looked they would find some spectacular deals on some really good equipment. This particular unit, the AV-705X was only $200 after tax. You guys can find these deals if you just look around at pawn shops, watch Ebay sales, or look at adds in the paper. There are deals to be had, so have them.

I thought that was the case, and I thought it was a killer deal considering I had paid $300 for the AV-505 a year ago. The AV-505 was in better cosmetic condition, but I am not one that cares loads about cosmetics. I have a Carver a400 that I still use to power my subwoofers. Click to expand... I tried using one of these to power my dead M&K once, it didn't work very well. That M&K has died 3 times now, I think it is time for me to move on. I will fix it one more time and then it is leaving ("tear")

Seth=L Audioholic Overlord Sep 26, 2006 13,444 0 113 May 17, 2007 #11 In regards to ventilation.... Not a problem with this amplifier, it runs extremely cool all the time. Also, there is some room for the heat sinks in the back because the Carver is longer than the Yamaha.
