Is Sony Serious?

My family & myself went out to dinner this evening then we stopped at best buy to pick up a copy of saw 3 so while were there i took the usual walk through the electronics section just to see what was on the market & i started looking at the recievers.

It appears that sony has a new marketing strategy where they put huge stickers on the front of their recievers listing the wattage,ohmage & THD,i couldnt believe what i was reading,they now display in bold lettering that their recievers THD ratings are 10% ,not 0.10 but a full 10%,i had to look at the entire sony line on the shelf to see if it was isolated to that reciever but it is the entire best buy line of sony.

Does this distortion level sound nuts to anybody else?

Hi buck,it appears as if i'll have to wait on the movie unless the day turns out better than it started,my son slipped on the ice this morning & screwed his wrist up so my wife has him up at the hospital getting xray's.

See now i thought the same thing at first about the THD rating but the way they make it look on the sticker is that it applies to all channels,the ratings on the sticker look like this.

100 watts x 5 @ 6 ohms THD 10%

Funny how it's potrayed to be significant, it should make you wonder what the Sony marketing department thinks of consumer's intelligence.
