Great analysis NAD and very “prescient” in my eyes; both the articles and your own take.

Watching world leaders trade barbs is like watching hookers arguing who among them is the most chaste.

Either you've seen some outstanding conversations between world leaders, or you simply have never seen the latter.

Vindicate?
No, every commentator mocked him.
Picking sides isn't journalism.
EDIT: I'm always draw to these discussions when I should be working :D
Gotcha. I was reading it quickly, and missed what you meant. I look on those comments about Romney as "editorial", which is fair. Just as long as it's recognized as such. Opinions expressed in the news media area fair ball, as long as they have some support by the "facts". These people were a bit overboard with their criticism. Other media are allowed to voice their support for Romney's opinion, if they feel inclined.

There are very scary signals now..... signals about a major escalation from russian side...... I am really afraid of a full blown war within two days..... Or that russia will fully wipe out larger areas of Crimea, embrace East Ukraine and go to Kyiv, it's what's suggested as a possibility from espreso.tv as I understand.....

Actually, there's not a lot of difference between politicians and hookers. Any time one deals with either, it costs money and someone gets screwed

My wife was on Maidan yesterday (Kyiv city centre) and it was a shocking experience for her, everything is black, black as... as black as it gets, from smoke of burning tires... what was streets are now just black..... people look extremely scary, after staying there for 3 to 4 months they're almost like zombies......

just hope this can come to an end now soon !!!!!!

My admittedly superficial take on this is that Crimea is lost. Just like those small sections of Georgia that are now 'Russian'. I don't think Putin really wants Ukraine as my layman understanding is that the country is a mess economically. I don't even think the EU wants it as a member because they're so weak what with all the bailouts that have been undertaken over the years. I think the move into Crimea is part of a longer range plan by Russia. That plan is energy. They just want to confirm that the rest of the world is feckless. As the Arctic becomes more exposed due to vanishing ice, I see the Russians making swift and decisive moves there to claim large swaths of territory which they can use to drill for oil and sell to the world which is in need. Unstability keeps prices high

I agree the Artic is in play and Canada/US will have something to say about that.

Russia, which doesn't even recognize the Ukranian gov't because it was a coup, and has plenty of troops in Crimea, could give two sh!ts.

Ukrainian gas oligarch Firtash arrested in Vienna on FBI warrant

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/13/us-ukraine-austria-firtash-idUSBREA2C14V20140313

From what I understand this guy is so important to criminals. black economy and putler, that the arrest may change the face of what's happening !
He's also very close to putler
Anyways, FBI vs The rest of the world: 1 - 0 :D
(well Austria police did some things too)
Right now I love the FBI !!!!!

I wonder what Obama and Yatsenuk was discussing yesterday

Probably seeing if the 1Billion in aid should be delivered in unmarked bags of $100 bills like Karsi is getting in Afghanistan.
