Have you NOT seen that the US Constitution doesn't grant rights to the people, it removes the ability of the government taking rights away?

Do you support the new anti-insult law in England? That's a clear loss of free speech.

The US Constitution and Parliament have provisions for removing a leader, but that should only be done if conditions become unmanageable, by Parliament or Congress. Congress is a bunch of spineless worms and they aren't likely to remove him but I asked a question before and you haven't answered it- WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE, since it's mostly the same as it was when you were born? None of the Amendments since the 1930s could possibly harm the people of the US- the 22nd limits the number of terms for POTUS and 25th defines succession. WHAT, EXACTLY, is dangerously rigid?

The UK (and most of the rest of the world really!) have "Freedom of Expression" - rather than US style "Free Speech" - which means you can have your opinions, and you can express them, but there are limits, and hate speech, incitement are likely to get the perpetrator into hot water.

It is more of a "you are free to swing your fist, as long as it doesn't actually land on anyone" - the US libertarian approach to speech has been reviewed by most other societies around the world, and the general response has been "yeah I see what your doing there, no thank you!".

It is worth noting that Sarkozy going to jail for corruption, only happened after he left office...

There must be plans being worked on to claw back all the ill-gotten gains by that family. Emoluments lawbreaking beyond belief, infinite. They just don't care about laws.

In all of this, the crazyness in Iran is disturbing me beyond comprehension

The brother of a colleague of mine is shot and killed during protests
Now after shutdown, my colleague can not get in touch with family, she has no idea if they are alive or not.....

From first hand source it is told:

• You cannot report the death to government, because then they come and "steal" the body
• government is black mailing people for them to get hold of the bodies, and we are talking big money ...
• government force the families to sign that the death was caused by protesters killing the person, so in statistics it is showed death by protesters and not killed by police...
• If you are taken by police using Starlink, the penalty is execution there and then...

Figures from my Iranian colleague is at least 12.000 killed, I trust this more than official figures

It is being told by many people in Iran that they hope for a US invasion, things can only get better

There are documented death threats and serious intimidation that Eva Joly faced during her time as an investigating magistrate probing major corruption in France, especially around the Elf Aquitaine scandal.

As she pursued the Elf Aquitaine corruption case in the 1990s, Joly received explicit death threats. According to accounts of her own experiences and reporting on the case, she found threats including a list posted at her office door that listed the names of French judges who had been killed, with her name not yet crossed out

Because of the severity of these threats, she was placed under round-the-clock police protection, and later this protection was even increased — at one point doubling from the original guard detail — to try to keep her safe
